Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

I love the show, and every character is outstanding. I always look at the matriarch's first. as the Katheryn character is one of my favorites. If I had a favorite, it would probably be Hanna. I remember watching her on In the heat of the Night. I also remember Candace on Sparkle, and some recent movies. She dresses sharp, with perfect hair and makeup. Let me mention this, there seems to be some chemistry between Candace and David Harrington. What would Veronica say to that? Still, Jeffrey is also one of my favorite characters. I remember the character Wyatt being on that Liquid Plumber commercial. And John Schneider being on The Dukes of Hazzard. They are fabulous actors. Meanwhile, I am sincerely proud of Tyler Perry. These latest shows on OWN are outstanding. I also love the comedy Love thy neighbor, and the Hattie character. It would be great to see Hattie and Mcdear in a movie, or perhaps Mcdear could appear on Love they neighbor. Love out.

I must be honest and say that I am a Gladiator to my heart. Scandal is one of my favorite shows. Mr Tyler Perry, I must say that you are a gifted, talented, powerful and anointed Man of God. Your creativity is amazing. Your writing and producing of this show has caused this show to become my other favorite show. Keep writing like this and this show will become my favorite. Oh, and for the record, Hanna's son (Benny) is NOT dead. I believe that Katheryn Cryer kidnapped him. #justmybelief #Ilovethisshow

Benny is going to die, unfortunately; I'm sad about that b/c we didn't get to see enough of him. Everything's out in the open now and those who said the cop was a plant of Jim's were correct! Wow! I can't stand Veronica and her controlling ways! Jeffrey is too weak to go against her, and so is her husband; it's clear who wears the pants in that house! Someone needs to bring Veronica down! Katheryn, I'm glad Hannah quit; you've lost a good friend and confidante, but blood is blood, and your son has her son's blood on his hands; you and Jim have to pay for that! So now Jim and the other judge are going to try and have Candace killed! I'm sure that will backfire in the end, just like this campaign for governor. Maybe crazy Amanda will be killed accidentally instead of Candace. This house of cards is coming DOWN!

I am so mad that the judge ruled on behave of Benny's father. How could you do that to Hannah. I hope that not only isn't Benny a match for kidney donation he wakes up.

I wish I could share m real life story about my sister who was on life support and she had a 1% chance to live like Benny. Hanna's discussion with the doctor was so identical to my discussion with my sisters's doctor that it shook me to my core. I wish I could share her whole story, because it is unbelievable God is a healer and my sister is a miracle. The script you wrote for Hanna was almost identical to mine. Thank you Tyler for showing the power of Faith.
