Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Oh, Tyler Perry, you deserve nothing but kudos for your outstanding show "The Haves and The Have Nots". This is by far the best show on television today. I can hardly wait for the next week's episode and actually outrun the week until it comes on. As an avid fan please allow me to perform so I can help to get those lowdown conniving scoundrels Oscar, Veronica and Jim. I will even rent my own tank to take the aforementioned villains out. In actuality, all the characters were well chosen and play their respective roles well. Mr. Perry, you have outdone yourself again! Joyce Coleman Detroit, MI

Hello Mr. Perry! ...I am not a big t.v. watcher, however, I was able to see two episodes of "The Haves and the Have Nots".... I love it! My question is ... How can I go back and watch the previous seasons? I would really like to start from the beginning. Hope to hear from you soon. Yours Truly, Sandra Hughes

This show was great when it started, but something happened last year and it wasn't good. the show started to really be bad. There is no more interaction between the characters. Actually it went downhill when Amandas character was killed off. Too much stereotyping which I don't like.I saw today the only thing I liked all year, Jeffrey telling that cop off. The cops a streptype too. Also Hannah telling Katheryne she knew all along. But weirdly I liked those 2 as friends,so that's over. And when did Candace become such a thug with a thug friend? Im confused. yuck

Yeah, getting a bit dry now. How do you end a show like this.? Mostly everyone of them should be in prison. Maybe the cancer returning in Kathryn and Jim remain in prison. Veronica get shot, War kill Candice, Benjamin kill War , Benjamin go to prison, Maggie get pregnant decide to keep her black baby and move away, Jeffrey becomes a transvestite, David becomes governor, Wyatt, over doses, Kathryn, die and leave all the money to Hannah and she drive away in a brand new BMW to raise her grandson in her brand new home.

Quincy's sister Quita better stay behind bars and face more charges especially for child abuse. She need to stay a good 30 or 40 years. Quita need to either do that time or face whipping from Candace and Erica and go exile to prison or be sent prison in another state. If she do get out because of Veronica,Candace and Erica need to prepare themselves thoroughly and I mean thoroughly and be on the lookout for her even if they succeed in the revenge against Oscar before they face Quita stay on guard don't get too relax in paradise. They need guns, other weapons and ammunition. When they catch her, They need to tie her up to a stool or hair salon chair and torture her by burning her with a few bruises with straightening combs, curling irons, flat irons, burning relaxer, and even a scorching hot electric iron, and threaten to pour hot grits on her and beat her with a cast iron skillet. Here's another idea Mr. Tyler they need tie her up and throw her in hot shower or tubs and whip and beat her on her back a little bloody but until large bruises show up with a switch and belt tie together with stenching cords and tattoo that heifer's back with the same brand they tattoo cows. Make sure they ask her questions tough questions too. She need to get it worse than social worker but not worse than Veronica. Candace and Erica just need to give Quincy's sister Quita a few minor bruises in face, a broken arm, a sprain ankle, and a lot of huge bruise scars on her back and a branded tattoo similar to the way brand cows on her back. Candace and Erica need to tell her leave town or state, or even the country; they can ship her off to another prison. And they should threaten to kill her if they see her ever again. As for Oscar, you should do a Have and Have nots movie where Candace chase Oscar all around the world. Let her learn how to fly planes, and make sure she has her guns. Don't let kill innocent people but get all unknown or known crooks that stole from her. Make sure this movie if you do The Haves and Have Nots movie is a box office success. And make sure it win some awards NAACP awards to Academy awards.

I really wish you had not made the social worker guilty and given Candice justification for beating another woman like that. Hopefully she was lying just to get out of there with her life. Whatever, it turned me off the whole show. So disturbing.

I like the show ,but the violence is too much and it was not a good show last week to see 2 women hitting and bullying on another woman and yet she loves her son? that is not consistent with the character.I had to change the channel ,very disappointing.

I was very shock when Candace and her friend Erica beat up Aaliyah, the social worker. I was like no that's the wrong one, ya'll need to get Quincy sister Quita she's in the neighborhood. At first I thought Candace was wrong for that and the girl may not have anything to do with Oscar. Those scenes almost twist my views of Candace. But when I saw this week's episode I no longer felt sorry for the social worker especially when she told Candace that Oscar paid her$25,000 in cash. The social worker took the bribe and she should' ve been fire, arrested, or both. Then I tied this week episode with last week episode and I remember when Candace said the social worker was pressuring her to show her how much money was in her account and flashback I remember Oscar showing her that money and another episode she saw the money in the hospital where she finds out that Quincy, her baby daddy was in the hospital trying to get their son. Then the fact that the social worker allow Hannah to get custody of Q, and her house burnt down plus she has no insurance on the house and she was staying in a cheap rundown motel that she could not afford and how she struggle to get Q to the hospital, while she told Candace that the expensive nice Sarandon hotel was unstable. I'm like Aaliyah lied and she should be fired. And then another episode I remember when Quincy was choking the social worker and took that information from her with Candace address and other information on there. Then she fail to tell Candace that Q choke and stole information about Candace's address which could 'be avoided Quincy harming Candace is like a set up and she should be charged and fired. So I don't blame Candace and her friend Erica for whooping her.

Tyler Last week episodes had me on the edge of my seat. I wish Candice and Erica didn't have to beat up the social worker. Wondering if she is telling the truth about Oscar. I was thinking maybe not because she just wanted to save her self. I am so glad that Hanna told David off. She has been through enough. I hope Q is okay. I have a feeling that Warlock is going to hurt Candice, as far as Quincy's sister she might try and kill Candice when she finds out about her brother. Maggie will end up pregnant. Looking forward to next week.

Tyler got me all twisted. Candace has always been my favorite, although she has done things that was very wrong. But I really hope she don't get killed and she, Hanna, Benny and little Q can live happy. All the powerful ones need to do time behind bars. And how in the world can Wyatt get off with immunity? That lil girl is dead and he's off getting high.

I love the story line of the show but there is only ONE thing that is very irritating and that is the music playing while they are acting. You can't hear them speak as well you have to have the TV up loud and the music is still annoying. Plus some of the actors needs to put more expression into their acting John his wide the maid the son of John are all great actors. But the rest of them are just a bit monotone is all but great actors. I love the show just trying to give some constructive criticism is all. I love all of Tyler Perry's shows he is an awesome writer and actor. But if the music while they are in scene can either go away or lower it a lot preferably go away would be GREAT.
