Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Responding to the Christian about speaking in tongues. Although this may not be for Christian viewing...the truth is we live in a society with all of these flaws and imperfections. I'm a Christian, and my role as a Christian is not to judge other Christians. God brought Tyler Perry this far to promote the truths about our waist land world. And if you take the time to view these worldly things happening, you learn to find ways to pray for others, to deliver others from the hurts and pains they all suffer from. Face it we live in a world that is stigmatized and glamorizes sick behavior. . . AND the only way to conquer sick behavior is through deliverance, speaking in tongues.

Most addicting soap opera I've ever watched....better than day time television soaps. I think the acting is incredible. The intensity and the mood of each character I think they're spot on. Tyler Perry always surprises me. He not only does comedy well, but the drama is beyond drama, beyond dysfunctional family...He gives a whole new meaning to what Dysfunctional family really is!!!

As for last night episode, The Waters Run Deep, Candace need to get some plastic gloves cut Quincy up with one of her knives. Then she need to dispose him or cremate him if she knew he was too heavy to pick up and Jeffrey wasn't gonna help her pick him up. After that clean all the blood stains up and redecorate and/or refurnish certain areas where blood s**** got on. She need to hurry up and cut him up quick. Candace need to hurry up and find Quincy phone under that couch or chair so she can find his sister and beat up Quincy's sister Quita and so that she can find other important information dealing with Quincy.

I sais last season and I'll say it again: I think Veronica was either g-y or transgender when she was young, and her parents forced her to be 'straight', which is why she treats Jeffrey like she does. And she made reference to her feelings about the D.A....I think she may have had feelings for her, but got shut down and she hates her for it; if V was transgender, she may have been involved w/the D.A. and now that she's a female, the hatred is still there. We'll see; I want to know Veronica's story; she's hateful for a reason!

Back on the HAHN train!! The biggest ?'s to be answered for me this season: who is going to 'off' Jim: Celine or someone else? who is going to 'off' Veronica? when is Candace going to find out about Benny & Veronica? will little Q be taken away since Hannah has no home, or will she relent and stay w/Benny? will Candace & Hannah ever reconcile?

I missed a lot of last season so I caught the marathon and I just have to say I would love to see Candace and Hanna finally make amends. The fighting back and forth has gotten old. Also I thought it was sad how Hanna thought Candace was involved with her house being burnt down. Wow. Please Mr. Tyler Perry can these two finally have a true mother-daughter relationship, better yet will Candace ever have any true relationship? It seems she has no one but Bennie.

She has War...he really digs her and I hope maybe she can get him to go straight and the 2 of them hook up! Sooner or later she's got to stop the madness, get her priorities straight and take care of her son, or let Hannah do it and she can visit, but stay in her child's life!!!

I just can't get over how judgemental Hannaford is. So self righteous like she has no sin. I feel for Candle and Benny dealing with such a cruel parent.

I agree, I have been a fan of (Crystal Fox) Hannah but she is just way too self-righteous and judge mental towards Candice and now Benny..I hope that will change this season or I may have to stop watching.

Hanna has give Candice many chances, but it's up to Candice to want to live within her means and live right. Kind of like the movie The Imitation of Life with Lana Turner. Hopefully she won't take too long to see the light.

Wow, a real action packed story line with (award worthy) performances by all for this 2016 premier season show. I forgot it was on earlier but caught it's replay in the middle of the night on my I pad, lots of action and surprises. I'm in agreement with other comments, that another channel is just a remote click away, different strokes for different folks and everyone is entitled to their opinions. Personally mine is "thank you Mr. Perry for providing so many of us with great entertainment over the years in many formats, and to the actors who put everything they have into their acting. Keep on keeping on, we love you all and God bless.
