It May Take A While

It's funny how a song, a taste, a scent, or something as simple as a change in weather can trigger a memory. Certain times of year make me think about when I was homeless. Especially the winter. I started thinking about this one lady in particular who helped me out during that time. She was a good soul who saw me in need and gave me money and food. She didn't have much but what she had she shared out of the kindness of her heart. I told her that when I got successful I would pay her back. She smiled and said, "You don't have to pay me anything. I just felt led to help you."

I couldn't stop thinking about her the other day so I did some research and found her. Imagine her shock when I called her. She didn't even think that I remembered her. It's funny how something that was a small gesture to her was a huge blessing to me. As we went on talking, she reluctantly told me that she had just lost her job and was facing foreclosure. Of course, I did some things to help her out.

Why am I telling you this? I'm glad you asked. She gave to me out of the kindness of her heart. She gave to me from a pure place and expected nothing in return. The thing that brought tears to my eyes and blessed me so about this situation was this: this woman planted a seed in my life almost twenty years ago. But what she didn't know at the time was that the seed she planted would one day come back and bless her life just when she needed it most.

So what am I saying? I'm saying that if you are a giver of whatever you have... time, money, love, help, whatever it is... if you plant it in pureness it has got to come back to you. It may take a while but you will reap a harvest from that seed. Don't be weary in well-doing. It will come back to you. I know sometimes it may seem that all the good you do goes unnoticed by people, but if they don't notice, it doesn't matter. If they don't acknowledge your kindness, it does not matter. You know why? Because I promise you God sees it all and He is the only one that matters. And He is bound by His word, and that word says you will reap what you sow. So sow on, sow good seeds. They will grow and come back to you when you least expect it.

God bless you today.

I been dreaming big since I knew you were doing your showers and the messages have been touching my heart. I think I been goin the wrong direction in people sowing a seed into my vision of buying land to build Gods Kingdom. I know if I sow it first it can happen and I know it will come to pass if I just wait on it. If you know how . Thanks for this story

Profound! Tyler, this is practical theology. Continue to preach as well as enact Christ's Word and teachings. May God continue to bless you as you do so.

Thanks for sharing this experience, Tyler. You ministered to my heart. I am a very giving soul, often sacrificing myself to give to others or help others. My blessing and payback comes from when I see the person take those seeds and grow them. God bless you for using what He has blessed you with to bless others - not just in situations like your experience with this lady - but in all situations in which you have selflessly blessed others. To God Be The Glory, Always!

Tyler, I don't know what you are going through and I don't know where you have been. Only God knows where you are going. But know this, you are on the top of my prayer list and I pray that God continues to strengthen, encourage, and empower you to do everything that He has assigned for you to do. Stephanie C.

I truly agree! I do understand about giving back! I advocate at the Columbus Urban League Choose 2 Change program for ex-felons. I have work on helping tenants with landlord conflict. Try to educate them with their rights. I help my friend Moma Dogg on her Forgotten One Ohio for hunger. She feed the men at the homeless shelter, give them clothes&and speak to them. She have others to come out to speak also! I been homeless! So know there pain. Plus I join a grassroots organization called The Peace Keepers. We focus on building up our families and commmunities. One of the focus is youth violences. My life purpose is to help strenghtening bodies, empower minds&heal souls. I go by Chosen! I have a link would like to share: I hope you like it? He may not come when you want him but he is always on time. To God be the glory. As a good and faithful servant you were listening and being obedient to be an example. Full circle of life. Take care.

Thank you!! I love how God uses sweet people like you to touch people's hearts when they need it most. I am the Minister of the children's department at our church. Now, our church is small but I consider some of our members the biggest blessing I could ever recieve. I love them dearly but some of them lack the heart of serving where it is needed. One word of teaching or holding a baby for a couple of hours and they all run out the door like there is a fire! LOL. It has been quite a struggle for me to try to take on so much myself. God gave me a huge heart to care for and teach such a precious generation. Lately I have felt like my works go unnoticed and I have not had the passion I once had. I do very little lately, just enough to make it Sunday to Sunday I suppose. It is so hard sometimes when our flesh needs the praises and the recognition of man. We forget that there is only ONE we serve and I thank you for this reminder and I thank God for using you to give it to me. Love you and Bless you Tyler Perry! Kathy
