Don't Let Anybody Define You!

I live my life outside of the box because when I die they're going to put me into one!

Many times in this life, people will try to tell you what you can and cannot do. They will also try to tell you who you are and who you are not. DON’T LET ANYBODY DEFINE YOU! When I was a kid, I had a teacher tell me that I would never be a millionaire because I was black and the system was set up to keep me down. This was a TEACHER! Can you believe that? I’m so glad that my little boy mind didn’t accept that. I have often been told that I wouldn’t make it because I was poor or because of the color of my skin. I had family members tell me I would never make it and my dreams would never come true for one reason or another... boy were they wrong. If I had listened to any of those voices I wouldn’t be here writing this to you. Hear me when I say this to you: no matter what anyone says to you, LIVE YOUR LIFE!! Follow that still small voice inside of you. That is GOD’s Holy Spirit and I think we all have the capacity to hear that voice. We just need to still ourselves to hear it. You must silence all the outside voices in order to hear THE voice. I try to stay as clear as I can so that I can hear it. It’s not always easy, but necessary.

This is your life. Make decisions based on your own path. Let no one define it for you!

If you live the life everyone else wants you to live and you never live the life you want to live, then are you really living??

Life is so short... Live it to the fullest!!

This is sooooooo true. Sometimes in my life I feel like a nobody, but I found out something. God has put calling on my life and I am what he says I am. I am a somebody. I may have black skin, but that doesn't mean anything. I am what God has called me to be. I'm out of the box that says I'm a nobody. As long as God is smiling on my life that's all I need. Life is too short to be worrying about crazy foolishness. May God bless u Tyler. I better stop typing beacause I will type out a whole sermon.

Dear Mr. Tyler Perry, I just have to thank you. Thank you for being real. Thank you for being true to you and most of all, thank you for being true to the God in You. You are an inspiration to me. I am an artist, poet/writer, interior and fashion designer and (when I grow up--I just turned 41, LOL--) I want to be a filmmaker, just like you. All I can say to you and your readers is this: DO NOT LET ANYONE TAKE GOD'S "YES", FROM YOU!!! GOD told me that I must get my fashion and jewelry line out in 2012 and even after just losing my job and quite possibly because of losing my job, I am determined not to let anyone or anything (including self-doubt trying to rear it's ugly head) keep me from achieving my goal. Thank you for not letting anyone take GOD's "YES" from you.

Tyler, I was raised in rural Georgia back in the 60's. When I was turned on to your Madea movies a couple of weeks ago, I can say that they brought back many memories from my childhood. I was raised and grew up around many women like Madea and can say that I actually wish there were more like her today. I was told many times growing up that I would never amount to anything. So much that it actually effected me to some degree. That still voice that you talk about was always there and that God that I did listen to it. My parents always told me that you are a Charles and you are as good as anyone out there so don't let anyone keep you down. I, like you rose above that and have had a successful career so far. I am now 51 years old and look forward to the future. My life now consists of working hard but for a different reason. I have a company that works with inner city kids in the Dayton Oh area through the court system and we are seeing changed lives because of our efforts. It's all about instilling values and positive influences in these kids lives. Thank you again for reminding me of my past and may God richly continue blessing you in all your endeavors.

Sometimes, I think it is our own doubts and our own voice that is the worst enemy. I think if you can overcome self doubt, than what others say won't matter so much. At least that is how it is for some of us. But with God's help, we get the confidence we need in time!

hey tyler . thank you for inspiring all of us to reach higher. its very easy to let people define us and tell us who we are and what we need to be because thats where they themselves reached. but if we only listen to what God is telling us we will be amazed at how great we can be or could have been.

Tyler, thank you for the encouraging works. I will get back in the game and I will not give up. I'm grateful for the emails because I was a little discouraged today, but my spirits lifted right up when I read your email. Right now, I'm getting a group together to come to Madison Square Garden in New York on either November 16 or 17 - "Madea Gets a Job." So far, there are about 6 or 7 of us, but I'm trying to get more people to go...you have encouraged so many people in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. I'm going to make sure I see your new movie.

When times get tough, I have to remind myself that I am closer to my dreams than i expect and God is still in control. Young 21 year old single mother in cosmetology school, yep that me! Trials and tests always try to come my way, but I know that God won't put more on me than i can bare. I also know that if God is for me, who can be against me? Stay encouraged folk. Also, come by and visit me on my Twitter @hifavorstylist. Be blessed.
