Tyler Perry has revealed his slate of upcoming projects with Netflix in 2025. This year viewers can expect several film and TV projects from Perry and the streamer, including “Madea’s Destination Wedding;” “Straw” starring Taraji P. Henson; the new comedy series “She The People;” part 2 of the hit drama series “Beauty in Black;” and the faith-based film “R&B.”
“Madea’s Destination Wedding” is the second film from the franchise to be released on Netflix. Previously, “A Madea Homecoming” debuted at #1 on the global top 10 English-language films list in 2022, and spent four weeks on the list. Written, directed, and produced by Perry, this installment follows Madea and her crew as they head to the Bahamas for an unexpected wedding, stirring up chaos and heartwarming fun. The cast includes Perry, Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Taja V. Simpson, Diamond White, Jermaine Harris, and Xavier Smalls. Angi Bones and Yolanda T. Cochran are also set to produce.

The upcoming drama “Straw” is Henson and Perry’s fourth movie together, the latest project to come out of their long-standing creative relationship. Written, directed and produced by Perry, the film stars Henson as a single mother who faces a series of unfortunate events that lead her down an unexpected path. The film also stars Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Glynn Turman, Sinbad, and Rockmond Dunbar.

The new comedy series “She The People,” features Terri J. Vaughn as Antoinette Dunkerson, who runs a successful campaign for Lieutenant Governor and now must figure out how to thrive under a sexist and condescending governor while attempting to keep her family in line now that they’re all in the public eye. Perry wrote, directed and produced the series, which also stars Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks, and Jo Marie Payton. Former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will executive produce, alongside Niya Palmer and Vaughn. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland will also produce for Tyler Perry Studios.

“Beauty in Black,” which reached #1 on the global top 10 English-language TV list following its October debut, will return for Part 2 on March 6. The show is written, directed and produced by Perry, and stars Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart as two women who, despite their differences, eventually find themselves entangled in each other’s lives.

“R&B” is the first faith-based film collaboration for Perry and Producer DeVon Franklin. Directed by Alanna Brown and written by Mike Elliott and Cory Tynan, the project is a modern-day retelling of Ruth and Boaz, one of the most iconic love stories in the Bible. Serayah McNeill, Tyler Lepley, and Phylicia Rashad lead the ensemble cast, which also features musicians Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Jermaine Dupri, Lecrae Moore, and Yung Joc, as well as Walnette Santiago, Nijah Brenea, James Lee Thomas, and Christopher Broughton. The film is executive produced by Bones, Strickland and Bart Lipton.
Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting projects throughout 2025.
