Tyler Perry’s latest feature film “Divorce In The Black” is now available to stream on Prime Video. Ahead of its release, Tyler Perry has been making television appearances to share exclusive clips and talking about the making of this new thriller.
On Monday, Perry visited Good Morning America and talked with hosts Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos about the intense but relatable journey the characters go on in the film.
Perry stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers the following day, where he told Seth the meaning of the film’s title, and shared how being raised by strong, funny women shaped his life.
On the morning of the premiere, Perry visited LIVE with Kelly & Mark where he shared with hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos how he fatefully met one of the movie’s stars, Debbi Morgan, at a Beyoncé concert.
Directed and written by Perry, the film follows Ava, a young bank professional who is devastated when her husband Dallas abandons a marriage she is determined to fight for. However, fate intervenes, revealing Dallas’ wicked deeds that have trashed their marriage, and once upon a time sabotaged Ava’s destiny to be loved by her true soulmate. The film stars Meagan Good, Cory Hardrict, Joseph Lee Anderson, Taylor Polidore, Shannon Wallace, Richard Lawson, and Debbi Morgan, and names Good, Angi Bones, Will Areu, and Dianne Ashford as producers alongside Perry.
This project marks Perry’s latest installment in the four-picture deal he inked with Amazon Studios in 2022. Perry has so far announced two other films as part of the deal: the dramas “Joy Ridge” and “Black, White, & Blue.”
