Tyler Perry’s next Netflix film officially has a release date, with Doing Life set to arrive on October 2.

The film, which tells the story of a single mother fighting to survive and a reformed ex-con with untapped talent who find in each other an unlikely second chance, will star Tamberla Perry, Karen Obilom, Jasmine Sargent, Danielle Moné Truitt, and Cornell Young IV. It is written and directed by Tyler Perry, and produced alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland.

The project is a part of Tyler Perry’s first-look feature deal with Netflix, which has also included projects such as The Six Triple Eight, Straw, Joe’s College Road Trip and Madea’s Destination Wedding. Doing Life will premiere just weeks after Why Did I Get Married Again?.
