Nominations for the 57th NAACP Image Awards have been announced, with Tyler Perry’s Straw and Ruth & Boaz each earning six nominations.

The casts of both projects were recognized across multiple acting categories. Serayah (Ruth & Boaz) and Taraji P. Henson (Straw) received nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Limited Television Series, Special, or Movie. Glynn Turman (Straw) and Rockmond Dunbar (Straw) were nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Television Series, Special, or Movie, while Sherri Shepherd (Straw) and Teyana Taylor (Straw) earned nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the same category. Tyler Lepley was also recognized for his performance in Ruth & Boaz with a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Limited Television Series, Special, or Movie.

Creative talent behind the camera was honored as well. Director Alanna Brown received a nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Television Movie, Documentary, or Special. Writers Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan were nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Television Movie, Documentary, or Special for Ruth & Boaz, and Maysie Hoy, ACE earned a nomination for Outstanding Editing in a Motion Picture or Television Series, Movie, or Special for her work on Ruth & Boaz.

Both Straw and Ruth & Boaz also received nominations for Outstanding Limited Television Series, Special, or Movie.

The 57th NAACP Image Awards will take place on February 28 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles and will air live at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on BET. Winners in non-televised categories will be recognized during the 57th NAACP Image Awards Creative Honors on February 26, with additional virtual presentations streaming on YouTube and NAACP Plus from February 23–25.
