Troy Millings and Rashad Bilal, hosts of the hit podcast series “Earn Your Leisure”, have made it their personal mission to make the information driving culture and commerce accessible to underserved communities. Exploring tactics of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, investing, and building generational wealth, the pair’s visionary platform skyrocketed in popularity, leading to the creation of Invest Fest, the first festival of its kind which held its second annual commencement this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.
This year’s event brought in over 12,000 people for the two day roster of activities and expert-led panel discussions featuring titans of industry such as Dan T. Cathy, Donahue Peebles, T.I., Dame Dash, Terrence J, and of course – Tyler Perry. “The highlight of the festival came when billionaire writer/director Tyler Perry took to the stage alongside Earn Your Leisure hosts,” wrote editors from Black Enterprise. Sharing words of wisdom and influential takeaways he learned throughout his career, Tyler participated in this festival as a means of furthering a cause close to his heart: building a strong and supported community from within. Tyler was later joined in the fireside chat by Steve Harvey who echoed the “urgent need for more expansive financial literacy to promote saving, investing, and generational wealth creation for traditionally underserved communities.”
Invest Fest also included a vendor marketplace with over 250 small businesses as well as live podcast stages with interviews from top entrepreneurs and celebrities. Building on their momentum from last year’s premiere event, the festival is looking forward to a future of success, widening its approachability and impressive slate of attending professionals.
