Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Again?” is now streaming on Netflix, and to celebrate the release of the third installment in the franchise, Perry made several appearances, including  a sit-down with Justin Sylvester for “TODAY With Jenna & Sheinelle” and a stop on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”

On Monday, Perry sat down for a conversation with Justin Sylvester for “TODAY With Jenna & Sheinelle” where he reflected on revisiting the franchise’s complicated couples nearly two decades after the original film, and shared some personal life updates as well. 

Later, Perry visited “The Jennifer Hudson Show” where he helped kick off the show’s fifth season with a chat with Jennifer and a walk through the Spirit Tunnel.

The third entry in the Why Did I Get Married franchise centers on the ensemble cast’s reunion at a wedding in Lake Como, Italy, where two children from the franchise’s core group of friends — portrayed by Perry, Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Michael Jai White, Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal and Lamman Rucker — are getting married. Taraji P. Henson, who has worked with Perry a number of times in the past, also joins the cast as the mother of the groom.
