“The Six Triple Eight” Official Trailer Out Now

The official trailer for Tyler Perry’s Netflix feature “The Six Triple Eight” — which is slated to begin streaming on December 20th — is out now.

Written, directed, and produced by Perry, “The Six Triple Eight” tells the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion: the only predominantly Black, all-female army corps battalion during World War II and stars Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams, the battalion’s commanding officer, and Ebony Obsidian as officer Lena Derriecott King. Perry wrote the original screenplay based on an article written by historian Kevin M. Hymel that details the true story of the 855 women who joined the war effort and were assigned the incredible task of fixing the three-year backlog of undelivered mail — all while facing discrimination, challenging conditions, and the experience of living in a war-torn country.

The film opens in select theaters on December 6th, and will be available to stream globally on Netflix on December 20th. Ahead of its release, watch the official trailer for “The Six Triple Eight” below.
