Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Tyler Perry’s upcoming movie “Madea’s Destination Wedding,” which sees the hilarious matriarch and her family attending her grandniece’s nuptials in the Bahamas. PEOPLE offered a sneak peek at the comedy as well.
Written, directed, and produced by Perry, this installment follows Madea and her crew as they head to the Bahamas for an unexpected wedding, stirring up chaos and heartwarming fun. The cast includes Perry, Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Taja V. Simpson, Diamond White, Jermaine Harris, and Xavier Smalls. Angi Bones and Yolanda T. Cochran are also set to produce.
“Madea’s Destination Wedding” is the 13th film in the Madea cinematic universe, and the second film from the franchise to be released on Netflix. The new film comes amid the 20th anniversary of the Madea movie franchise, which launched with 2005’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman. It is also one of five upcoming Tyler Perry projects for Netflix, alongside “Straw,” “Ruth & Boaz,” “She the People,” and new episodes of “Beauty in Black.”
