Description:

Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor, the new situation comedy by writer and director Tyler Perry is a wonderfully fresh show about a middle class family, and their daily joys, struggles, triumphs, and fumbles. Hattie Mae Love (Patrice Lovely) lives in the simple home that she and one of her husbands bought some time ago. Linda (Kendra C. Johnson) her daughter, splits her time between Hattie’s home and the apartment she sometimes shares with her on-again off-again husband, Lionel. Danny (Andre Hall), Linda’s son, is his mother’s pride and joy. He is young, handsome, smart, and looking for a job. After graduating from college, Danny finds himself on his grandmother Hattie Mae’s sofa. Floyd (Palmer Williams, Jr.), the uncle, through his late brother’s marriage to Hattie Mae, is an ever-present thorn in the family’s side. Like old luggage, they can never seem to get rid of him.

In the first season of this comic tale, Hattie Mae has had enough of grown people living in her house. She puts her foot down and shows the toughest love there is by sending Linda and Danny to the door. Danny moves in with his friend Sam, and Linda eventually helps out down at Hattie Mae’s Love Train Diner.

The Love Train is an old locomotive car converted to a diner that serves up all of Hattie Mae’s old recipes. It is the neighborhood hang out spot that, along with great food, serves up a whole lot of fun. As Linda and Floyd commit to help Hattie Mae with the family business, blessings abound. Soon the customers multiply, and so do the laughs, the drama, and the love of a very comical family.

With the help of Danny’s new roommate Sam (Jonathan Chase), Danny soon lands a job at an internet design firm. Danny proves to be a star there. However living and working with Sam, a 30-year-old who is trapped in his teens, will prove to be more of a nightmare than Danny could ever imagine. As the parties get wilder, the women get crazier, and Danny’s young life becomes a humorous tale of dodging fanatical friends, and eccentric family members.

Nevertheless, Danny begins to excel at his new position when the Chicago office sends the beautiful Marianna to take over as boss of the Atlanta office. Marianna quickly falls in love with Danny’s work ethic and virtuous character. As a close knit team and family, the young twenty & thirty something’s embark on a number of adventures that go along with being young professionals in a contemporary & technical society.

All in all, Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor is a collection of stories that warm the heart, provoke thought, and always serves up a heap of laughs. Through all the changes, there is one constant, and that is the universal language called Love. It’s all about love.

Enjoyed the Season 5 premier episodes last Friday. I like the addition of Troy and hope she eventually fits in with her new family. Drew with Danny? No, she's too crazy. They work better as friends. The big question: When will we start seeing some DVDs for this series? Now that there are over 75 episodes (and still going strong), I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to have this series on disc.

Good morning Mr. Perry, I am one of your biggest fans. I sincerely love your work. Your show Love Thy Neighbor is one that I can honestly relate to. With that being said, that show I take somewhat personal. I am always sharing the laughter with family, friends, and co-workers, in which most of them also enjoy it as well. However, I have a few co-workers who say they just can't get into it. So, you know I asked, "WHY" They said that the laughing that is in the background is what is annoying. One went as far as to say that "you can't get into it because of the fake laughing" Mr. Perry, I have absolutely no problem with standing up for your defense in your absence, being that I am 6'2, I never have much problem with them looking up to me anyway. Needless to say, I am understanding enough to see their point. So, Mr. Perry if you read this please don't take it the wrong way, but just try to discontinue the background laughter, it is obvious some just don't understand the meaning of a sitcom. Thanking you in advance for all you do, keep it coming. I Love It!!

What does Danny see in troy , and what doesn't he see in drew .

Well my friend, he just might view Drew as family, more like a sister and never really saw her in a way of him hooking up with her. Drew does look better than Troy, however, we both know that looks isn't everything. You see, Danny and Drew hang out together, work together, they even plot together so Danny boy is not viewing Drew as his wife more like the sister he never had. Now, keep in mind that Mr. Perry has his ways of putting twists in the game. And whose to say that as the show go on that Danny don't see Drew as the wifey type.

Why are the characters so childish? None of the characters appear to react like adults or think of others...they only appear to be concerned about themselves; Linda when Danny got married. Danny when Lindadated. They do not believe or faith each other. Floyd, Drew, appear naive at times and then knowledgeable but no consistency. Drew should have some self respect and move on from Danny

Love Thy Neighbor is a hilarious show! However, the show has a lot of reality in it. Mr. Perry is bringing out the good from things that some may not be able to handle so, with the childish attitudes that you say the characters display just might help someone who may take life too serious. Laughter is always good for anyone!

Why is Danny so dumb? Not familiar with women when Sam is permisicous? Why is Sam inhibiting Danny's relationship? Why is Linda not happy for Danny

Oh no, my friend don't be depressed about Danny and Troy. You see that doesn't appear to last. You know, I seriously believe that Mr. Perry listen to the fans, and with that being said, the preview shows that Troy is having some issues with the Love family. So, cheer up and keep hope alive for Danny and Drew, honestly, you now got me interested in seeing how/when or if Mr. Perry will link them together. Remember, they started out as friends, now they are in laws, which such make them close, oh but when heart ache comes sometimes families get closer. You feel me!
