Description:

Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor, the new situation comedy by writer and director Tyler Perry is a wonderfully fresh show about a middle class family, and their daily joys, struggles, triumphs, and fumbles. Hattie Mae Love (Patrice Lovely) lives in the simple home that she and one of her husbands bought some time ago. Linda (Kendra C. Johnson) her daughter, splits her time between Hattie’s home and the apartment she sometimes shares with her on-again off-again husband, Lionel. Danny (Andre Hall), Linda’s son, is his mother’s pride and joy. He is young, handsome, smart, and looking for a job. After graduating from college, Danny finds himself on his grandmother Hattie Mae’s sofa. Floyd (Palmer Williams, Jr.), the uncle, through his late brother’s marriage to Hattie Mae, is an ever-present thorn in the family’s side. Like old luggage, they can never seem to get rid of him.

In the first season of this comic tale, Hattie Mae has had enough of grown people living in her house. She puts her foot down and shows the toughest love there is by sending Linda and Danny to the door. Danny moves in with his friend Sam, and Linda eventually helps out down at Hattie Mae’s Love Train Diner.

The Love Train is an old locomotive car converted to a diner that serves up all of Hattie Mae’s old recipes. It is the neighborhood hang out spot that, along with great food, serves up a whole lot of fun. As Linda and Floyd commit to help Hattie Mae with the family business, blessings abound. Soon the customers multiply, and so do the laughs, the drama, and the love of a very comical family.

With the help of Danny’s new roommate Sam (Jonathan Chase), Danny soon lands a job at an internet design firm. Danny proves to be a star there. However living and working with Sam, a 30-year-old who is trapped in his teens, will prove to be more of a nightmare than Danny could ever imagine. As the parties get wilder, the women get crazier, and Danny’s young life becomes a humorous tale of dodging fanatical friends, and eccentric family members.

Nevertheless, Danny begins to excel at his new position when the Chicago office sends the beautiful Marianna to take over as boss of the Atlanta office. Marianna quickly falls in love with Danny’s work ethic and virtuous character. As a close knit team and family, the young twenty & thirty something’s embark on a number of adventures that go along with being young professionals in a contemporary & technical society.

All in all, Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor is a collection of stories that warm the heart, provoke thought, and always serves up a heap of laughs. Through all the changes, there is one constant, and that is the universal language called Love. It’s all about love.

Hello London, unfortunately right now, the beginning Seasons are not on DVD. However, hopefully Mr. Perry will hear our cries as to putting all episodes from the very first episode to the most recent one on DVD. You do know that they are still airing this last season on Fridays. I truly love this show and wish that it was on daily, but that is my personal opinion. Needless to say, I believe many people may feel the same.

Hi Gwen, how are you? I know you enjoyed your birthday. Thanks for that information, I recorded Season 4 and 5, so I just watch them over and over. I really wish that Mr. Perry would either put them on as reruns or on DVD, either way it's a win win situation. Do you know when Season 6 will be coming on? I heard somewhere that it will be back in May, if that is true I can't wait. How do you think Season 6 will be?

Hi Wanda how are you. My birthday was good. My youngest son wanted to get me the first season of love thy neighbor for my birthday but I told him that it was not out on DVD. I heard that the new season starts in June I can't wait. I hopeing that Troy did not leave Danny.

Ok great, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. I'm good, just missing our show. Yes, part of me would like to see Danny and Troy hang in there. However, we know that poor Troy has her hands full with her husband(Danny). I wasn't feeling Troy at first, and truth be told I still feel as if she is hiding something, but overall she is good for Danny. I have so many ways this Season 6 premier should be that I can set it off, in a good way that is. Season 5 finale left me at a what was that type of way? I still got much love and respect for Mr. Perry's ideas.

This show is amazing. Every character is relatable in someway. The greatest thing about the show is the story lines for each character, they're so realistic and honest. Also every cast member is in every scene, and I love it. Although I would love to see more of Drew and hopefully she gets a new boyfriend and makes Danny jealous.

I like Troy but I was not feeling her for Danny. I also think that it is time for Drew to have a decent man. I am a true fan of Perry, he has me addicted to his shows on the nights they are on! Go Perry!

In season 6 can you make this the new plot . Drew comforts Danny and Danny keeps complaining and troy sends divorce papers and found a new man . Drew gets tired of being annoyed and she comforts him still and she still cares for him but she is tired of it and gets some pride . Linda is mad and facing her very last days of pregnancy . Troy comes back to try to make things work and Danny is happy again and then Danny scares her off and he gets depressed and at the dinner drew meets a guy named Maxwell Potrayed as Gavin Houston and they hit it off . Danny tries to win troy back . Drew and Maxwell both fall for each other and Drew finally gets a man . Danny comes to the dinner depressed and drew and Maxwell step by step get serious . Troy and Danny's marriage is finalized and Danny goes back to his mom and copes with his depression . Drew and Maxwell move in with each other and Drew can't stop thinking about him and he can't stop thinking about her . Drew often talks to Danny about Maxwell and he soon sees he missed out on an opportunity . Maxwell and Drew get really close and Hattie makes jokes and calls herself girlfriend number 2 . And every time Maxwell doesn't agree with drew . Hattie be like since she be like that I'm number 1 . They are very in love and then their schedule gets to busy and it tears them apart . They remain friends and Danny sees drew is single he tries to see how it would be to date her and he enjoys it but doesn't want to make it a big deal . Drew and Danny become very close friends . Maxwell and drew try again and they become close again and they become very passionate like last time and Hattie jokes around about it again . Hattie is very funny and crazy and Floyd meets a new woman Morgan Potrayed by tisha Campbell Martin and they date . They become close and it turns out Morgan is Linda's sister . Maxwell and drew are very in love and they decided to to get engaged and he finds out he is still in love with another woman and breaks drew's heart and Danny steps in and comforts her . You tell me what should happen

Hello Elisha, in season 6, if Troy has really left Danny with the intent of not being his wife. I do think that Danny need to move forward. However, I truly feel as if this lesson that Danny has to learn will be a hard one for him, but with the much support of his family and friends, this too shall pass. Danny and Drew will remain friends, just not friends with benefits. In season 6 Drew has a love interest with Maxwell, and they really hit it off big. Phillip steps in and show Danny the ways of a heartbroken man and how to deal with hurt from the one you love. Linda, is very upset about knowing that Danny is hurting but at this point in her pregnancy there is nothing that she can do, but worry, which sends her into a stressful labor, that puts her and the baby in jeopardy. This situation has the Love family and friends in a distress mood. Danny matures strongly in this situation even so that Phillip can lean on him for support, which grows their relationship more closer. Meanwhile, back at the Love Train Diner, Sam comes in with a lady that he met at a concert, portrayed by Tisha Campbell Martin. Floyd, comes over to take Sam's order as well as small talk when he notices Tisha and they notice each other though out the small talk. Tisha Campbell Martin realize that Sam is not right for her but Floyd is and the two exchanges numbers. At first, Sam is upset with Floyd until Ms. Hattie talks to Sam and shows him that he is special just not ready to settle down in a meaningful relationship. Now that Floyd and Tisha are dating she tells Floyd that she is the manager for a famous R&B singer portrayed by Queen Latifah. Floyd notices the very strong resemblance in Queen Latifah and Linda but thinks nothing of it. Floyd invites them to the Diner where Ms. Hattie passes out when she lay her eyes on the R&B singer, but not because the singer is a star but because Hattie know that is her daughter, Linda's twin, oh my!!! And the plot gets thicker... What would add or take away, and if anything, Why???

I would add drew and Maxwell split up because his busy schedule but remain friends and Danny steps in and comforts drew and they hit it off . But drew feels weird and kindly says no . Danny was never told no by drew but it got him more attracted to her . Tisha and Floyd get serious and Maxwell comes back for drew and Sam walks in to Hattie talking to queen latifah and he tells Philip . Philip holding on Linda gets scared and sends his niece Lisa who is Rihanna to care for Danny . They can't stand each other . Maxwell and Lisa get together and that leaves drew and Danny getting together and Danny sees a whole nother side of drew and he falls in love with drew big time . Lisa and Maxwell hit it off and they are lovey dovey . Hattie's other daughter Angela who is Tasha Smith comes in and helps Phillip out . Tisha and Angela become friends and drew feels bad for Danny so drew goes to visit Linda . And the shocking happens . You add on . Please you could take off . But give drew and Danny a chance .

NO! Drew and Danny DO NOT NEED TO BE TOGETHER. I like Wanda idea of Queen Latifah being Linda sister. Kendra and Queen Latifah do look alike. Now to get back to Drew and Danny. Drew is to childish for Danny they both act like little children. A man needs someone to help him grow. A woman needs someone that will see the strength and help her build on it. If both are childish who is helping who.Troy is the perfect match for Danny because she is trying to help him grow. Like Philip has help Linda grow a lot compare too the being of the show. She was whinny and naive. Now she a strong woman. With a good husband. If they need to bring a other woman on for Danny but not Drew. Even if they had to has him play the field.

Why can't you just at least try it when Linda was afraid to get with Philip she tried it . You won't know how something is until you try it . We haven't seen it happen . You'll have to admit drew appeared very different . You need to just give it time because it's like if you don't try you miss an opportunity . Drew she is a opportunity . So just give it time and just try it .

Drew and Danny do not belong together it was different with Linda and Philip. Philip love Linda from the beginning he always love Linda but linda was afraid because she couldn't understand why a man like Philip wanted her because she said that he was cute and sexy and what would he want with her she didn't have enough confidence in herself to see that she was what he wanted but Drew and Danny they are just too childish they do not need to be together

I would really like to see Drew move on. Not from the sitcom, just move forward with her life. Danny can and always will be involved in Drew's life, I just think if Drew and Maxwell get together(married) it will show Drew growing into the wonderful flower that she really is. This way Danny can grow as well in more ways than one. That is if Troy has left him for good. But if not, maybe he will start seeing that his childish ways are more harmful to the people who really love him. Everything is not Danny's way and he will recognize it now that Troy has left. The character Lisa, is she Phillip's sister, cause I thought you said one time that she was a friend that moved in with Drew and that Maxwell was her cousin??? I like the idea of Queen Latifah playing Linda's twin because Kendra(Linda) has been a stand in for several of Queen Latifah's show/movies. And I just think it will be a perfect fit. However, Queen Latifah may have her own thing going, she doesn't have to be a regular just appear from time to time. Well now if Mr. Perry need me to play that role he can just hit me up, I stay ready. LOL

I want Troy and Danny to split up because Troy acts like a grown woman ,but Danny acts like a childish 10 year old and I don't think they are right for each other. So, I think that Danny should go with Drew because Drew have always loved him and they have known each other longer.

Hello Canaria, glad to see a home girl on board. Think about, if Troy has left Danny for good he really need to just grow up before he gets with any woman. Drew does love Danny but that's just sickening for them to get together now after he was with her cousin. Talk about family feud!!

I sort agree now but Danny had drew waiting and no woman likes that , it would be nice , Danny didn't at least try to date her . What they could probably do is make Gavin Houston come in and portray a dude named Maxwell and they should date . But I do want Danny and drew to date but I just think you shouldn't keep a good woman waiting .

Hello everyone, honestly what do you think about last night Season Finale? Did it meet your expectations? If not how would you have written the Finale? Mr. Perry we love all you do and I personally know that you have your hands full. You are and have always given us your wonderful works. I pray God's continue blessings be with you. May he continue to bless your health, strength, mind and give you peace. There are times when you get weary, tired, and may want to give up. But we keep asking for more, I said it once where much is given much is required. With all the sitcoms, plays, movies, and etc.

Honestly I felt cheated. I expected so much more for the finale. However that being said, I know that writing and meeting everyone's expectation isn't easy plus balancing family life. So Mr. Terry my prayer is that you continue to keep God first in all you do and much success in all your endeavors!!! And just know I'll be waiting for next season.

Wanda, I was a little disappoint in the season finale. To much time was spent on Mama Hattie and Troy not enough time spent in the diner. I would love to see Philip talking to Danny and telling him how to be a man not a little boy. Linda gong in labor and having the baby would had been a good finale.

    • Wanda Horn Lake, MS #2169425

That's what I'm saying, I agree with Gwen. I was thinking the season finale would have had poor Linda having the baby. I'm tired for her. However, TP is letting Kendra sit/lay around alot, playing the role. Also, Kendra loss a lot of weight and with the baby bump maybe they were thinking it would not have been noticed. All in all season 6 Linda gotta have this baby.

See Troy is not a bad person and she is a girl. Linda never give Danny the sex talk this is Linda doing she treated Danny like a little boy to long. Troy was just trying to make a man out of him. I don't think she left him, I think she took all of his onesie and toys. I hope because i like Troy and Danny needs her

Yes Gwen, Linda still got the cord connected to her and Danny. But, in all honesty Linda don't appear to know much to teach Danny, she got pregnant and had him when she was 15, then got pregnant after her and Phillip hooked up the first time. Do she even know about protection??? Lol The season finale didn't give us that aww, but now your idea about Troy leaving with a big suitcase full of Danny's onesie and toys would make a great season 6.

Wanda, Linda was married twice because once to Danny's father then to Lionel. Philip is her third husband maybe she though that she could not get pregnant again. Remember Linda was celibate when her and Philip get together.

    • Wanda Horn Lake, MS #2169423

Gwen, I didn't know that Linda was married to Danny's father, that line may have went over my head. I can see her not thinking she would get pregnant again at 40. That is why I can't wait to see her with this new baby, cause my son was born when I was 40. And like Linda, he is my second child. All I can say is Get Ready, Linda!

Wanda, when Linda was looking for a job she told Mama Hattie that she was not good at anything because she never work. When she was married to Danny's father he did not want her to work and when she marry Lionel he did not want her to work. In a other episode she told Danny that her and his father got marry because she was pregnant with him

Yes this is one of my favorite shows & yes I love Mr. Perry's work but I can't help but feel a little cheated.. A when season consists of about 8 episodes... And those episodes were stretched out... If we are being honest... There were very few things that took place over the "season. " This story line could have actually taken place in 3 episodes.. For instance how many "seasons" will Linda be pregnant... Again I do love Mr. Perry's work... Nor am I a hater... It's just that I feel a little cheated watching a great sbow
