Description:

Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor, the new situation comedy by writer and director Tyler Perry is a wonderfully fresh show about a middle class family, and their daily joys, struggles, triumphs, and fumbles. Hattie Mae Love (Patrice Lovely) lives in the simple home that she and one of her husbands bought some time ago. Linda (Kendra C. Johnson) her daughter, splits her time between Hattie’s home and the apartment she sometimes shares with her on-again off-again husband, Lionel. Danny (Andre Hall), Linda’s son, is his mother’s pride and joy. He is young, handsome, smart, and looking for a job. After graduating from college, Danny finds himself on his grandmother Hattie Mae’s sofa. Floyd (Palmer Williams, Jr.), the uncle, through his late brother’s marriage to Hattie Mae, is an ever-present thorn in the family’s side. Like old luggage, they can never seem to get rid of him.

In the first season of this comic tale, Hattie Mae has had enough of grown people living in her house. She puts her foot down and shows the toughest love there is by sending Linda and Danny to the door. Danny moves in with his friend Sam, and Linda eventually helps out down at Hattie Mae’s Love Train Diner.

The Love Train is an old locomotive car converted to a diner that serves up all of Hattie Mae’s old recipes. It is the neighborhood hang out spot that, along with great food, serves up a whole lot of fun. As Linda and Floyd commit to help Hattie Mae with the family business, blessings abound. Soon the customers multiply, and so do the laughs, the drama, and the love of a very comical family.

With the help of Danny’s new roommate Sam (Jonathan Chase), Danny soon lands a job at an internet design firm. Danny proves to be a star there. However living and working with Sam, a 30-year-old who is trapped in his teens, will prove to be more of a nightmare than Danny could ever imagine. As the parties get wilder, the women get crazier, and Danny’s young life becomes a humorous tale of dodging fanatical friends, and eccentric family members.

Nevertheless, Danny begins to excel at his new position when the Chicago office sends the beautiful Marianna to take over as boss of the Atlanta office. Marianna quickly falls in love with Danny’s work ethic and virtuous character. As a close knit team and family, the young twenty & thirty something’s embark on a number of adventures that go along with being young professionals in a contemporary & technical society.

All in all, Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor is a collection of stories that warm the heart, provoke thought, and always serves up a heap of laughs. Through all the changes, there is one constant, and that is the universal language called Love. It’s all about love.

I love Hattie, she is Tyler Perry's next Top Notch Actor, I like the way she looked in the play better than how she looks on the show, but other than that, I think she is awesome and Love the Neighbor will blow up just like everything else Tyler, puts his hands on..... More to come bigger and better!!!!

Not feeling this show at all. Could have come up with Haves and Have Nots which I love but could have kept this show on lock. My family has it recorded to give it a chance but I can't watch it. Maybe you can make it better. Acting is too forced especially hattie's part and the other characters except Floyd, maybe he can have his own show and cut the others.

I enjoy most of your work Mr.Perry but for me and others who have watched and disgarded this series, this show has fallen flat. Don't get me wrong, the concept of the series is quite entertaining to say the least but these "breakout" actors besides the lady who plays Hattie and Floyd, are not taking this show to where it should. Acting is poor, gestures are poor therefore the series is poor.

I love the work of Tyler Perry. The Haves and the Have Nots, right in line with, Madea, The Browns, and the House of Payne. Love thy Neighbor, not so much. The story line is great! However, the actors just don't click. Lord knows I try to watch but once Hattie opens her mouth I just can not sit through 30 minutes. It's a shame because her petite frame and the way she holds her hands remind me of my grandmother....until she opens her mouth!!!! Oh, by the way, the timed laughter in the background is irritating too. I only hope this review will help make a few changes in the programing. Love You Much Tyler Perry.

These shows " The have and have nots" and " Love thy Neighbor" are shows that probably somewhere, someone can related to. Things are happening similiar in the real world. I don't feel Hattie's voice is annoying, I watched the show, Floyd, Hattie, Hattie's Daughter, and the grandson is ok, but I feel, just my opinion, the writers either new to redirect the other two characters or replace them. Just my opinion. And bring the " Payne back" it was left unfinished.

I love TP but Hattie's voice has got to go! It's unnatural. No one speaks like that. It's annoying. Everyone I've asked about the new shows says the same, love Haves and Have nots and can't wait to see where it's going and cannot stand Hattie's voice on LTN. I've tried to watch it. I've gotten thru 4 episodes thinking it will change, she will change. And there are too many laugh tracks, sorry they're just not that funny. I would watch regularly if her voice became normal but as of now, I'm not watching again. I'll check in every once in a while to see if the voice has transformed. I do like the rest of the characters and this is just my opinion. Good luck.

I love me some Mr. Tyler Perry. I thank God for him. We all are blessed with talent, but it is something special about this man. I have been to every play and movie and I have learned a lot from this man. May God bless you and you continue to do what you do. Pray is the key.

Momma Hattie's character extremely funny, this character is so over the top, she do not need help with so many punch lines from her supporting cast, they don't need to be funny because it is not working, too many elephants in the room in my opinion. the laughing machine is being used way too much until it so very annoying; as a whole, the show works please consider these tips. love your work.

I just watched the "Haves & Have Nots" and"Love Thy Neighbor" for the first time this week. I like Haves.... It gives me a high tension drama feel with a soap opera type issues and dramatics I can see this working for a lot of people. It's going to have to grow on me a bit but I'm going to keep watching. And as for me I really like, actually love "Love Thy Neighbor" It is very witty and entertaining, I think it skews to a slightly younger demographic than most of the other shows the TP is doing which is why like it a little more. The casting is well done and the comebacks and retorts are always fresh and funny. As others have said Grandma Hatties voice is a little bit much, but she's eccentric so I can deal with it. Keep it up Tyler and we'll keep watching.

When I first started watching your show I liked the fact that you are presenting new faces. This show reminds me of when the "House of Payne" started out. Once you get the writers on one accord then the show will definitely mesh. I think you are doing a great job in helping someone else realize their dream. Always remember to put God first.
