Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Hi Tyler! Love the show and have been tuned in since Day 1. However, I have to agree the season finale was a disappointment. Some of the scenes were very awkward. Being the very observant person that I am...I noticed after Jim was beaten up by Quincy when everyone was outside and knowing that he was just attacked why was everyone just standing there? Like why didn't they yell at him to "get out here before we call the cops" or something? Then when Jim yells the first time "Everyone go back inside"...Jeffrey was right next to him and just disappears from the camera and everyone else is still there? Like did he just magically disappear or? Because I definitely did not see him go in. Also I would think in order for him to have went in he would've had to cross over Jim and David. A few editing errors there. Now the finale could've been a little longer IMO. If it couldn't have been, give us enough drama where we will be left picking our mouths off the floor or talking about it for weeks. Like others have stated there were a lot of unanswered questions. For example where was Benny? He didn't get any camera time last night. What ever happened to the professor? Also, the storyline does seem a bit stretched a bit. Most of this half of the season was pretty much the same day. Some of the scenes were awkward for example: Tony and Hanna. When he showed up at Hanna's place and they stare at each other after Benny left for like 2 mins LOL! Please don't rush this show it has so much potential. If need be bring in some writers into assist you. Juggling more than one show at a time is very stressful. And maybe you should consider just focusing on one show at a time and make it bigger and better before moving on to another. Let it be great! Love and Blessings!

I agree with you, but this episode was a very vague way to end the season...like too much info to keep track of between now and Jan 2015,,,,,Maybe a 2 hour finally will work better

That scene was supposed to be a miracle performed by God. Remember Hannah was singing and praying for him daily to perform a miracle on her son.

Great show!! My husband and I watch it twice just in case with missed something. Hanna (Crystal Fox) is one of our favorite actresses as we used to watch her on the Heat of the Night!! She should get an nomination for an emmy!!! I agree with everyone; January is too long to wait but we just have to. Thanks for being a great writer, director and executive producer. You are doing a great job!! We love all the other actors and actresses too. Thanks Oprah for letting Tyler Perry be on your station. :)

DELICIOUS!!! Last night was soooooo good! I'm so glad Candace made good and had Warlock and crew kidnap Jim-bo! Now let's see how he likes it when the shoe is on the other foot! Quincy gave him the best beat-down!! I loved it!!! I'm so done w/Jeffrey; Veronica has stripped him of any trace of manhood; he's gonna turn out to be a pathetic, downlow brother just like Landon predicted. I'm more than done w/Veronica, and I think we all knew David and Maggie would 'go the distance'. H* hum! *Amanda shot herself...

Tyler Perry, I think you are a talented writer, lots of imagination. I am "pulling " for you. That being said however I was disappointed last night. Please let it be that Amanda has killed herself. She is my least favorite character on the show. Her character is the least believable and poorly acted. Jeffery is just pathetic he needs more, "something". My favorite character is Hanna, please develop her character some more. Love Candace she is street wise as well as intelligent so please give her a life beyond manipulating Jim. Jim is just evil please give him a realistic dose of his own medicine.

I agree...I hope Amanda killed herself :-). She is not a good actress at all, and (although this is not her fault) her lines are ridiculous. Actually all the Cryers have terrible lines and even worse delivery. I know I sound like I dislike the show, which is not true. I like it, I just wish there was more character development and not such awkwardness between the actors. In my opinion, the only realistic or believable scenes are the ones that include David or Hannah. Oh, and back to Amanda...what ever happened to the professor that she stabbed in the park? Are she and her brother both killers?

I was VERY disappointed. After waiting with great anticipation for this finale, you mean we have to wait another 5-6 months to get to what we thought we were to see in this finale?! Someone was to die...who was it? I didn't see that happen. Why are we having to wait to see what Candance does to Jim? So we end with him being kidnapped just like the prior season. Come on, Tyler. I thought the finale would be two hours long because all the previews could not have been shown in just an hour.
