Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

This show is fab. My oldest son who appeared on Oprah on Mother's Day has really been motivated by your work and creativity Mr Perry! Jordan spoke eloquently on the Boys raised by single mothers and I know all will see more of Jordan! Because of your spirituality and creativity, you open up people's mind to see the "what is possible". And nothing is impossible! Thank you for touching everyone's lives! Heck you should join ADDICTS of the Have and Have Nots on Facebook! Even though there is probably different scenarios you have scripted, trust me we mull over many what ifs as well and go thru withdrawal waiting for the next enticing and exciting episode! Thank you MR PERRY for being an inspiration to many generations to come! God placed you here and now for a reason! Thank u for grasping your spirituality and ensuring it is coordinated with your creativity!

OMG! I was so wrong about the detective and Hanna. That MF called Judge Cryer anyway! See how people can be for a little position or job/money!. Jeffrey did the right thing and told Ms Cryer about her daughter, and Mrs Cryer did the right thing and said thank you. I did not like that Candace did not immediately go see what happened to Benny with the hospital, as she is not the kind of person to just stand around and then go home. As you remember she went into the O.R to ask the Dr what was his condition, so that was a shock, as it did not go with her character. Why Why Why did they not tell us why Hanna was arrested? Oh the pain to wait to find that out! Uuughh. This is just a few of the things I saw tonight please lets talk about it. If you agree or disagree, lets talk. pr not I dont really care but if you reply I will reply also. Till next week. THANK YOU MR PERRY! Love your show!!!!!

No where do they show the detective calling Judge Cryer. As for Candace, her reaction was fine. When you loose someone you love, your actions are not always your normal character. In regards to Hanna being arrested. If you see the previews for the season finale, Bennys body is missing. Mrs Cryer has probably had him moved to a better facility. This is why she is trying to reach Hanna. So they think Hanna has something to do with it. As good as this show is, its still a little predictable.

Mr. Perry, cast and crew you all are what tv should be every night. All the negative hatet out there are writting bad reviews out of envy. This show just has to continue for another season. Please don't let what happened to Park Avenue 666 happen here. I'm happy that something besides vampires' warewolfs, and zombies. I really love this cast. The person responsible for bringing them together is a genius. Love u all.

According to next weeks previews, Tony and his Atty are asking Hannah where Benny is. Sooo, Katherine must have had him moved. I can't figure out how Celine fits into this story.

Celine is mistress #4 whom I believe has a son by Mr. Cryer. I think her son is the guy that showed the office to the them as their political headquarters a few weeks ago. I think they continue to let her work and pay her to be quiet about the child and that is why she has the ability to be so rude without getting fired.

Took acting in college. Nothing to talk about. Never personally met anyone famous. Fine. I'm okay with all that. Though reluctant, this is my first time reaching out to anyone on your level (someone famous and, of course, rich) but I had to. Mr. Perry, one word "UNCONditiONal" You continually open the door to the "What Ifs" in every piece you produce. And like many of your other projects, this current one has taken on a life of its own. It comes from you, but it has its own destiny and all you can do is watch it unfold--something I have a feeling you already know, but humor me. Though you're the writer and you may feel you're in control, from my perspective, I don't think so. In a sense, maybe you are, but from an artist perception, that simply isn't true. You created this piece (child), but now its grown up and moved out on its own and all you can really do is take notes and watch it as it matures. How exciting this must be for you. I so wish I could be there just to peek into your world, even if just for a moment--but that's okay... I feel your dream is for all of us and that's enough. Life's funny. Just when you think nothing and no one can affect you on any real level because you've lived such a complete life... here comes Mr Perry. Well,... never say never, right? Congratulations Mr. Perry, No one needs to tell you "You've Arrived". That happened the day you sat down at your table with a pen and paper, and whatever you do, don't stop--there's still way too much to say. Wishing You the Best of the Best... Always

Quincy's real name is Medina Islam based on the cast info and I would think that he and Jeffrey aren't brothers in real life.

I think Benny will recover and Candace will be killed - a future who-done-it. Hannah will search for her grandson and find out what happened to him. Can't wait for season 3. I'm hooked on this show!!!
