From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

To those of you who are dissatisfied with what you're watching, stop watching the show! This is about real life happenings in today's world and it might not be real in your world, but in this world that has a black president, free community college education, low gas prices, our troops home and sooo much more - we tend to want to D*** IT DOWN and turn a blind eye to all thats alive and well in this world. Here's a thought to consider,Instead of bad mouthing this man's Eye Witness Account of all that exsist in the world-Figure out where you fit or choose to exsist in the world and write -in to Mr.Perry w/thoughts on how you see it to be,otherwise just pray and keep it moving!

Get real. People have a right to their opinions, JUST LIKE YOU! We like the show. It's just moving slow, that's all. 3rd episode, 3rd season and we still don't know who got shot. Compared to Empire, first show, we know who got shot and who did it.

We do know who got shot. There were clues from the first show when it returned. If you are looking closely, you will see blood on Amanda when Wyatt went into her room after hearing the shots. It's dark but you can see it if you pause. Also the previews of the show gave clues. The person who got shot was the person who had wallpaper on the wall in their room. If you saw Amanda's room in previous shows and see next week's preview you will noticed that the wallpaper has blood on it the same room as Amanda's room. The final clue is on one preview of next week, they showed Mrs. Cryer in next week's show looking for Jim. So it has to be Amanda.

I mean I know who got shot but the show hasn't revealed who got shot. So I guess this means the professor is going to get off free for Amanda. I wanted to see him fry.

Thank you Mr. Perry! The juicy night time drama has returned. Last nights episode was bomb.com. I hope the show continues to keep me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what will happen next. the first two episodes up the season were a dud.com.

Tyler, why did you have Hanna looking like a slave woman by the head. !!!! ON her love scene, that was uncalled for , for a Black woman of this day and age to look like that on National TV. She started out with a nice wig, I need for you to put it back on her head (ASAP!!!!!!!!!) Or keep her natural hair nice, not those braids like she is five years old. She is too Beautiful for that. And her scene is with a Good looking black man, so don't do her like that. My friends and I are very disappointed at my watch party......We love the HAVE AND HAVE NOTS........

Hi Mr, Perry I used to have cable and started watching The Have and Have nots when it first aired. I no longer have cable instead have roku. I miss that show so much and have looked on the internet to watch it. why is it that it hasn't been put on Netflix or amazon or something. Please put on!

Totally agree. I hate that none of the shows on OWN are ever on Hulu or OnDemand. Tyler, pls. make your shows more available. Also, re HAHN, make Veronica and David work it out. It's so seldom that you see men like David on TV. But I must admit, it was fun to see Veronica beat the c*** out of Maggie!!! And Tyler, how about being different and make Jeffrey hookup with that pretty young girl and abandon being gay. Hasn't been done before.

Did not enjoy the show tonight. It's becoming to sadistic. Last season was great, but what is going this season. It appears that you have a different writer. Why hasn't Catherine woke up yet, and Veronica acting crazy. If this show turns any worse, then I will not watching this show. We all loved it in the past, but now its awful.

I agree with you completely! I said the same thing to a friend who watches. Mr. Perry is slipping into darkness.

    • Angel Ny #2057932

I've been on here predicting this for ages.... All I can say is thank GOD for Empire!!!!

  • lorraine

Okay, enough of Jeffrey acting like a spineless p-nk! Veronica needs to be put out of her misery; she's just AWFUL and I've had enough of her! And she has the nerve to call Candace a ghetto h-? She's showing herself to be a hood rat herself! Sick of Jim, I hope War fries him good! As for Wyatt and Celine...ridiculous!!! Where the h-ll is Catherine while all this chaos is going on in her house!! NOW...really, Hannah?! Michael should have been sent home! I know it's her house and all, and she was trying to be nice, but he was out of pocket for basically trying to force himself on her when she said 'no' (although she really wanted it)! I guess the REAL Hannah will come out now, and we'll see she's not as saintly as she wants to appear!

Three episodes in and still no dead person at the mansion?? Seriously?

  • Faith Georgia

I must say ..I find this episode very boring..mr Perry please step it up..anyway still love the show..

The HAHN- it's not too d*** hot, but the drama is finally heating up. Veronica's character finally had actions with her words; She let Maggie Day have the business. It's about time Hanna get a lil something something. We gotta find a way to get Benny the Bear out of the way-maybe it's time for the girl from the hospital to step in to distract Benny from his mom and Candace. As for poor Jim, he deserves what he's getting-Candy's Karma. However, when Candace finds out that Amanda has made a suicide attempt, I think she will let Jim go-depending on Amanda's outcome. Will Jeffery try to kiss on Quincy? Will Quincy finally get his hands on Candace? I think Mr. Perry is going to turn it up on the next few episodes-I hope and I will be awaiting for the drama to come.

Tyler I love this show! I will be be so happy once we figure out who got shot. I think I know who though. So glad u brought love in Hanna's life. She's a good woman and she deserves a good man. Can't wait until next episode.

  • Sharon North Carolina

Love the show, but who got shot!

  • Leslie Greenville, SC
