For Better Or Worse, Tyler Perry’s sit-com centers around two of Perry’s favorite characters from the big screen- Marcus and Angela. Marcus and Angela were first introduced to the world in Tyler Perry’s blockbuster hit feature films… “Why Did I Get Married”, and “Why Did I Get Married Too”.

For Better Or Worse is a not-so-subtle situation comedy that follows the zany and sometimes tumultuous relationship of the lovesick couple. Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White are back to reprise their roles in the half-hour show. Michael plays Marcus, an ex football player turned sports commentator who owns his own sports talk show. Tasha Smith also resumes her role as Angela, the edgy and outspoken wife of Marcus who is dedicated to her husband, children, and marriage. The show also follows the lives of those who Marcus and Angela call their friends. There is Joseph, Marcus’ best friend and business partner. Joseph is left devastated by his breakup with long-time girlfriend, Leslie. Tired of waiting for a proposal from Joseph, Leslie has moved on to bigger and better things while staying focused on her career and her undying friendship with Angela. Keisha, Marcus’ ex- continues to cause a world of trouble for the group of friends and colleagues. And Jennifer and Todd are still as crazy as ever.

For Better Or Worse is ground breaking television, and is one of the biggest TV shows movie mogul Tyler Perry has ever produced. The sets, high fashion, and the strikingly good looking cast come together to create a truly sexy and provocative half-hour of television. Viewers will experience a fresh approach to the traditional sit-com format that will provide all the elements of well-crafted storytelling and the raw intrigue of reality TV. For Better Or Worse explores the controversial and joyous moments associated with marriage and dating in a 21st Century world. And like always, viewers will leave with life changing messages that have become a trademark of the Perry brand of entertainment. Don’t miss the next Tyler Perry hit… For Better Or Worse.

TP....Do you have to have so many laugh tracks? Trust we will know when to laugh

I was really happy to see the direction you were going with the marriage of Chris and Lesley, and now you have rip that rug right from under our feet and made a woman who seemed to be fed up with waiting for a man to love her and marry a man of all our dreams. Now she looks week and pitiful for a man who didn't want to commit to her until she was not available to him anymore. I know its TV but this is where we escape from the real world and we want to see the Cinderella happy life. I'm not going to give up watching for now (but its so hard) with the hope that you will reconsider that story line.

I agree with you on the Leslie/Chris/Joseph storyline. I have my TV set to automatically record the show and after Wednesday's episode I stopped the automatic recording. I will check out the next show to see if I will continue watching. As I stated previously, Joseph didn't even tell his mother about Leslie until she came to visit so why she would want him back is beyond me, but since you never showed the actual wedding that was my insight that she wasn't going to stay married.

It seems as if she is being written as a weakling on purpose...I just can't get with it!

I don't understand the current story line of for better or worse. Leslie lived with a man that did not want to marry her and disrespected her. Found someone who did and couldn't commit to someone who respected her. Implied is some silly black woman who thinks that a man who treated her bad is better than one that cared for her. So many missed opportunities.

I agree with all other comments! When the show was on tbs it was more meaningful. Now the acting is so silly and choppy. Too much of not getting to the point. Leslie walking into the salon not saying anything, and Jennifer and Angela going back in forth over nothing, and Marcus and Richard's friend at work is just over the top silly! And Joseph is pitiful, too! Sorry TP, but you've put better stuff out there for entertainment purposes. I'm probably gonna stop using up my recording space with such silliness on Wednesdays and watch L & O special victims or modern family!

Tyler Perry you have got to do some work on the show this season. All the bickering back and forth is super annoying. The guys at work are the worse, especially the young intern and his involvement is so not realistic. The jokes are not funny at all and it takes way to long to get to the point. The story lines need a boost. The season when Bobbi Christina was on was actually the best season to date. I love the concept of the show so do not want to loose the show, but please tweak it as I know you can easily do.

I really love tyler 's work but this show is so unreal and I know longer want to watch it. Joseph is a wimp and stupid. Leslie don't know what is want, angela and jen needs some acting lessons. so I decide not to watch it anymore.

i truly love tyler's work, i really think he has a good eye for movies and tv, but this show is too far unreal than real. let me explain, i know angela was a chemistry major and when she could not get hired in corporate america, she created her own hair product line( hence how she got a successful salon), but no stylist in america does her clients hair in 6 inch heels and wear the best clothing, plus Tasha's acting is not the same i am used too seeing. she is one of the best hood actresses i have ever seen, but this role is not for her. jennifer is the main reason to watch the show---she is hilarious and down to earth, plus todd is really good as a antagonist. the station head is really not beliveable and keisha is really overacted, but the biggest downfall to me was when marcus found out keisha's daughter was not his----there is no black man in america that would have reacted that calmly.

This show has the absolute worse dialog. The writers should be shot. I feel like I'm watching a show written for 3rd graders. Is this really the type of show Oprah wants on her network?

  • Cassey Los Angeles CA

You are overdoing Angela's jokes. You are making her humor annoying, know when enough is enough. Cut out some of the bickering and get to the freaking point. The jokes have to be hilarious to be carried out for as long as you all do and they are just not that funny. The only show that I know that has ever been that funny is Martin and this show doe snot even come close. Know when to stop, please. The show is really good but it wont last long if you continue to make it annoying. FYI Marcus, Leslie, the boy that works in the office as an assistant and the girl that works at the front desk as an assistant are the only characters that are naturally funny. The other characters come across as annoying when they go on too long about the same stupid subject or joke. Keyshia, Angie, Joseph seriously annoying as SH*****T

  • Cassy Los Angeles CA

Tyler, I like the plot of the show. But I can no longer watch the show any longer. It is so annoying. You all elaborate on the jokes for way too long, the extra back and forth is excessive and makes you just want to turn the TV off. With your amount of experience, I would think you would know the right amount of balance and how far to carry the jokes or the back and forth of conversations. Please hire a professional, experienced writer that knows when the joke has went on too long. The serious and funny conversations go from funny or serious to annnnnnnoying really quick. Its way too much back and forth about one subject and we get the point. You need to balance it. Do you or Opera actually watch the show? Because I'm sure if you did you would make the changes. I'm starting to think you do not write or watch the show. Your previous work seems more professional than this, please get rid of your writer and get a more experienced team. The show has a great plot and I would love to watch but it's really annoying. The conversations go on way too long. TOOOOOOOO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, my name is Rose Winnse, I'm from Canada. I want to inform you all that there is a spell caster that is genuine and real. I never really believed in any of these things but when I was losing Tarique, I needed him so badly. I found in a site consultant about DR AISABU spells and i ordered a love spell. 24 hours later,i got a phone call from him. Tarique was his old self again and wanted to come back to me! Not only come back, the spell caster opened him up to how much I loved and needed him. Spell Casting isn't brainwashing, but they opened his eyes to how much we have to share together and he came back confessing how much he loved me. I recommend anyone who is in my old situation to try it. It will bring you wonderful surprises as well as your lover back to you. The way things were meant to be." you can contact the spell caster on 's very nice and great spell caster, he can help you solve any problem contact him on his email. i promise you will share testimonies just like me.

Mr. Perry, I don't know anything about how to make a TV show, but I know that something is wrong with FBFW. I'm not sure if you have the right ensemble cast. Maybe it's the combination of over acting and under acting, there's no real balance. Your characters are too loud or too much weave or too ghetto or too stupid or too dressed up and at the same time their characters don't seem developed enough to carry a show. I don't know. Sometimes I just roll my eyes. Truth is I just stopped watching. I like the idea of featuring an upscale Atlanta family and their friends, don't lose that. It's different, but I think you need better scripts, remove a few of the characters, probably Leslie and Joseph, too young, immature and naïve. In fact, I like the idea of a single, more mature female and a single more mature male, not living together or even dating, but perhaps there is lots of flirting and tension between them. They are friend of our main couple, but every time there's a gathering they are bringing different dates. I think Angela and Marcus can carry the show with extended family, especially cousins, and friends. Just my two cents...

    • Beejcee Missouri #1887053

@Dee, I agree the show does need a change. Since we now know that it is over for Chris and Leslie, maybe it IS a good idea to lose the characters of Leslie and Joseph, at least for a while. In my opinion, there is nothing left of interest (with those two).

    • angel ny #1922909

I agree! The only reason there was the abililty to create this show is because fans want more of Tasha Smith after the movies she was in. We wanted to see more of Angela and Marcus and their relationship outside of the vacation trips with friends. We wanted to see how they raise their children and deal with the issues in their lives. All of the accessory friends and their relationships are actually not at all interesting to us...unless their situations are directly related to Angela and Marcus. In the movie, Angela mentioned something about a brother (why havent we seen him in the sitcom in some capacity) There was also a scene in the sitcom where Angela was going out and MJ was going to the car where his grandmother was waiting for him to babysit him. (why havent we see grandma yet in the sitcom in some capacity) I think the absolute BEST episodes are the ones that focus on Angela, Marcus and MJ and the day to day family situations. We would love to see more with MJ, his aunts and uncles, his friends, his school, his extracurricular activities, Angela and her mothers relationship, does Angela have a father...what is the relationship there, what about Marcus family, does he have brothers or sisters, do they have kids, who are MJ cousins and what is he getting into with them, what about Marcus parents MJ paternal grandparents, what is the relationship there... THESE are the things the fans want to see in FBOW, not a whole season devoted to Leslie/Joseph and that wedding mess! Just an opinion....

Hi Tyler- Tyler I have enjoyed every show or play that I have seen of yours but, this one For Better or Worst I don't care for some of the characters in the show. Angie is straight out boring all she says is Marcussss 50 times through out the whole show I would like to here her say something else sometime. I think Leslie is a good actor, Joseph yes he acts childish but I like watching him. Marcus is o.k. but him and Angie I don't know. During the first season they were the bomb I don't know what happen just not funny any more. Have and Have Nots is just great characters and all.
