  Hey Tyler, How have you been doing? I can tell by the message that I've received from you that god has truly been good to you as always. I take this time to just apologize to you first of all for my absence in not responding to messages that you have sent. I've been kind of busy with work and my hours are crazy but that another story. I'm so humble about the message that you sent about guarding your heart and your mind from negative things and people. I've had this to happen to me in my life time and time again and when I read this message all of what I have been through it all came clear to me, that I don't have to stop being who I am just to prove something to anyone.   The email I received from you today is so very powerful and it is how I have lived all my life. I went thru a lot of hurt and disappoinments but through it all I diversed and came out on top because God carried me through the rough times and walked beside me all of the other times. Thank God for His grace. And, thank God for you.

  Greetings Mr. Perry, I was prompted to respond to your message, "Guard Your Heart and Mind" because it was so unbelievably timely. I just pulled out of a documentary project (on Tuesday) to which I had given 5 months of my time and energy, given for free. I assisted with grant writing, created a mini-promo with no footage!, drafted a treatment and a 60 page script, shot a trailer, and was in the process of editing it. When an incident occured where the Exec. Producer - a desperate mom with no knowledge of film, but determined to tell her story- met with my editor without me and initiated changes to my work with unfounded criticisms (and I am no stranger to "constructive" criticism - it is a part of my line of work), my spirit immediately told me that, as you stated in your message, my gift was being abused. My time, my energy, my talent, my commitment were not being respected. They couldn't wait one day to include me in a discussion about the project after all I had done. Still, crazy me! I was beginning to feel bad about pulling out, telling myself it could have been worked out, that's not what was meant. But the red flags had gone up before and I could not deny that the signs were there, and I need to heed them. So, while being accused of being rash and "unadult", I stood my ground. Another young lady is trying to write and produce a play and needs my assistance. I have met with her, given her information on how to proceed, reviewed her work, sent her back to the drawing board with notes and comments and suggestions and directions. She contacted me to say she thinks she's ready and wants me to direct. When I read the email, I immediately thought, I'm 53; I've done nothing but share my gifts and talents, knowledge and experience with others. Isn't it time for me to stop and forge ahead to fulfill my true dream and desire? The answer to the above question is a resounding, YES! But at the same time, I can't stop being who I am, a giver, a nurturer, an inspirer. Thanks for your message of confirmation. You're an alright guy. :)
