Description:
The film tells the story of Judith, an Ivy League-educated relationship expert who makes her living dispensing marital advice, but is so bored with her own marriage that she breaks her professional code and cheats with a smooth talking client only to realize she has made a huge mistake.
A bold exploration of the intrigue and perils of infidelity, Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor is a compelling love story that dives straight into the heart of obsessive passion. "It's about a woman who starts to get restless in her relationship and her choice to be with another man has a huge effect on the rest of her life," explains screenwriter/producer/director Tyler Perry. "She goes on a journey - in her career and in her marriage - and she ends up in a very different place than she expected." In a departure from his previous dramas, this explosive film finds Perry exploring the nature of desire - and just how powerful and dangerous a taste of the forbidden can be. "This is definitely one of the most provocative movies - sexually and otherwise - that I've made," says the director. "There are a lot people who struggle in their relationships. They make bad choices about their marriages. They get divorced. And so many of them don't step out of their situation and really think about the consequences of what they're doing. This movie asks, 'Are you sure you want to do this?' It sends up a flag."

I went to see Temptation with my hubby of 25 years and it was exceptional. I saw myself at one point or two. If I could change anything, I would have went further and had the "brother" prosecuted for spreading the aids virus. Seeing him stand before a judge ( in handcuffs) or in an orange jumpsuit would have completed the story. Just saying. "Be sure your sins will find you out." Nevertheless, the moral of the story was quite clear.

I really think you took us to a another level with this one Mr. Perry. I enjoy all of your movies but this one is by far the best I've seen thus far. My best friends and I really enjoyed ourselves throughout the entire movie. The three of us are married and at different places in our marriage and yet, we all left going home to appreciate what we have at home. Jurnee, Lance, Kim, Ella, Brandy, Vanessa-icons in my book and did a fantastic job! I know you are getting a lot of criticism about Kim but I think she played her character to a "T". The other people that were there to see the movies with us that night had the same thoughts- we can't say that we don't know the consequences now. We've known them all along but you've put them on the screen. I just may go back and see it again!! Thanks! Continue to keep God first and this journey is no where near over!

I see why you did not bring this movie to a happy conclusion. You delivered the worst case scenerio ending. Yes there are mariages that survive infidelity and to show that as an ending would give the perception that if you satisfy your curiosity you can return to your marrige after and it will work out in the end. Because of the message that needs to be sent out to everyone this story had to end badly. I was devistated for the character Judith because she is a representation of a person that this really happened to. We hear about it on the news, that some unsuspecting person contracts HIV from someone who looks and behaves as though they dont have it. Lust and passion unbound can lead a person to abandon reason and common sense. That is just one of many lessons this movie has to offer. I am still reviewing this movie in my mind and pondering....

The movie "Temptation" , was by far one of Tyler Perry's best movies ever ! Obviously, the moral of the movie is: "You think the grass, is greener on the otherside". Besides breaking your commitment, to your spouse, the character "Judith", did not realize how "HURT", her husband would be once she cheated on him. Besides, that the movie dealt with some manyreal issues, substance abuse, emotional/psych, and physcial abuse. It clearly send a message. A recommended this movie to all of my friends. My brother and I discussed at length and he loved it. YES ! "Temptation", is definitely, a must see !

Hi Tyler, My daughters and I had a chance to go see the move "Temptation." I really enjoyed how you brought out a message for everyone to be careful and view your relationships and marriage seriously. It's amazing when some things hit home in the atmosphere of a theater, the people is giving it much thought when you walk out and its very quite. NO ONE IS "TALKING." And for the most part is to pray about everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Perry my husband and I chair a couples ministry at our local church in Decatur, as well as community outreach with couples (Seeds of Inspiration). On April 20, 2013 we are hosting a Real Talk discussion at our home about your movie Temptation because there is so much to dialogue about for couples - thank you for keeping it real in this movie! I was hoping that you might be able to send us some promotional items to give to the couples attending on April 20. We are expecting about twenty couples. I can be reached at

I saw the movie yesterday. I truly enjoyed it. I laughed, cried and did a lot of thinking. You touch basis on a real life scenario. This story made me think about Magic Johnson's situation. The club scene, struck accord for a lot in the different community. I know your heart is in everything you put out there. Do not worry about the haters. You do you and keep it 100 all the time. As a black women, I can identify with the black films. You keep write, directing and producing and I will keep supporting you. Your an awesome person and it comes through in your movies. Keept up the good work. You are a role model for many. We need more positive and close to home Black films, black lititure and black plays. Are if I want to be plotically correct, " African American" LOVED IT!!!!! :D

I don't get out much due to being a single parent and working two jobs, but I saw this movie today with a girlfriend and it was fantastic! I was on t he edge of my seat and because I am a therapist, I could see things before my friend could, which made me appreciate the movie even more. Great script, cast and plot. Tyler Perry, thank you for making movies that will be talked about for generations to come. Kudos on a job well done! In Peace, S. Office
