It May Take A While

It's funny how a song, a taste, a scent, or something as simple as a change in weather can trigger a memory. Certain times of year make me think about when I was homeless. Especially the winter. I started thinking about this one lady in particular who helped me out during that time. She was a good soul who saw me in need and gave me money and food. She didn't have much but what she had she shared out of the kindness of her heart. I told her that when I got successful I would pay her back. She smiled and said, "You don't have to pay me anything. I just felt led to help you."

I couldn't stop thinking about her the other day so I did some research and found her. Imagine her shock when I called her. She didn't even think that I remembered her. It's funny how something that was a small gesture to her was a huge blessing to me. As we went on talking, she reluctantly told me that she had just lost her job and was facing foreclosure. Of course, I did some things to help her out.

Why am I telling you this? I'm glad you asked. She gave to me out of the kindness of her heart. She gave to me from a pure place and expected nothing in return. The thing that brought tears to my eyes and blessed me so about this situation was this: this woman planted a seed in my life almost twenty years ago. But what she didn't know at the time was that the seed she planted would one day come back and bless her life just when she needed it most.

So what am I saying? I'm saying that if you are a giver of whatever you have... time, money, love, help, whatever it is... if you plant it in pureness it has got to come back to you. It may take a while but you will reap a harvest from that seed. Don't be weary in well-doing. It will come back to you. I know sometimes it may seem that all the good you do goes unnoticed by people, but if they don't notice, it doesn't matter. If they don't acknowledge your kindness, it does not matter. You know why? Because I promise you God sees it all and He is the only one that matters. And He is bound by His word, and that word says you will reap what you sow. So sow on, sow good seeds. They will grow and come back to you when you least expect it.

God bless you today.

We serve an awesome God! As I read the story I had to ask God to forgive me . I am a young single mother of 6 but 5 living children. When I was 21 I met a young 13 year old girl whose mother was killed execution style over drugs. With not much income barely taking care of my own I yet felt I needed to to be an example to this young girl, who had been place in a home with drug addict aunt and uncle. I stepped up to the plate and took her in and along with my children she was now my responsibility. I had often times thought I was going to lose my mind not knowing were to turn to but then one day I truly got a relationship with God and stop contiplating suiside. Well that 13 year old girl is now a very sucessful business owner of a mental health therapycenter and money has seem to take its toll on our relationship. I had been upset for months wondering how could money change someone like that and them I became angry with her for not being here for me in my time of need. But as I read this God began to let me know that trouble dont last always and what u do dont exspect back because my reward is in Christ. I thank God hat she is successful and even is she never says another word to me im thankful that iI was led to be a great example. I know now that my reward is not in the return from man but from God and if iI had to do it all over again iI would still obey God. Tyler thank you so much for that wonderful story and sharing your testimony. I really needed to read that. God bless!

I'd simply like to say thanks. Thank u for reminding me that it doesn't matter if man recognizes and or appreciates me. All that matters is that I remember, no matter what, all that I do is for God's glory and edification. BY THE WAY...., when will we get to see the winner of ur YouTube contest? May the one true living only wise God continue to keep u.

Dear Tyler,. I just read your e-mail, "It May Take a While," and I cannot tell you how emotional I became. I had to read it to my husband. I read the message before letting him know who it came from. You are a blessing to many. The beauty of your life and how I underatand you is you have not forgotten where you came from and you seem to always put God first. It is amazing how God led you to find the woman who helped you twenty years ago. He had you to contact her right on time. You had no idea her house was in the processs of foreclosure. That is what it means when we say, "God stepped in right on time," or "He's an on time God, yes He is!" We are looking forward to seeing your next movie, "Temptation." I am going to suggest our Couples Ministry from church go as a group to see it. You're in my prayers and I am sure God will continue to bless you as you continue to bless others. With Peace and Blessings!

Thanks for the morning pep talk coach. My mom would call what you've described as the boomerang blessing. I believe in her boomerang blessing theory. If you give out mean, hateful, and evil actions to other, you will get that in return. Thanks for another reminder of my mother's love. Sometimes I think she is telling you what to say from heaven. Lol! Or maybe your mom just taught u the same things my mom taught me. Because I care, T Btw....got the dvd...and "liked" u as the avenging hero. Buuuuut, I still " love" you when u are being funny. (And not just as Madea. Uncle Joe is actually my fav)

Such a beautiful testimony. I don't believe it was a coincidence that you thought about that lady during during that specific time. I believe that God will align heaven and earth at the exact time to bless those who remain faithful to Him and His Word. There is nothing impossible with God! Every morning during my prayers, I tell God "yes to You and to Your will for my life today before I even knowwhat you will have me do". This prayer has led me on a journey of blessing and doing amazing things for people that I would have hesitated doing in my past. I know my treats is coming when I need it most, but for more I'm just glad to do something for God because He's done so much for me. God bless you!

Hi Tyler that was a wonderful uplifting story. I've seen you talkk shows and know your story and you only had two options, to do good in the world or be a thug on the streets? You accomplished much more. I'm in Ky not Hollywood or that's my excuse? I'm bipolar manic manic depressive have been most my life only found out 11/09. I just wanted you to know when I watch your movies it takes me to different place? A happy place with no worries. Madea is funniest character ever thought of. I enjoy your movies over and over and over. You just can't make them fast enough? In your next movie or next movie could you do something regarding mental illness? It's not funny to have this illness, but I think you could work it into humor without offending? I would be honored to play that part? How could I get a role lol. Please hurry with your next movie?? I need some laughter? Best wishes and God Bless you.

Ps. 30:5...."weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning". One of my favorite Bible verses of all time and I am even more encouraged when I see this play out in someone's life. Beautiful story of how God took you from grass to grace, what's more beautiful is that like that one man out of 10 lepers, you are still in a mode of thanksgiving through your good deeds and acts of kindness. You understand the power of giving unlike some other "rich" people in America who do it for "charity", note my quotations, because I believe its not, for the most part, from a genuine place. I also believe that you are rich when you get the concept of giving because then you understand that your money is for a bigger purpose than....I'm going save my comment here:-) Glad you found the woman that helped you so many years ago because now you get to feel how she felt. Happy..other than just making the reciever of one's kindness happy, I have come to learn that there is soooo much joy and fulfillment that accompanies that simple act.I only wish, hope and pray that people could understand that giving is one of the best medicines in life, especially when one is filled and led by the Spirit to do so. All the best!
