I Thank God For Closed Doors

When I wake up in the morning and see the sunrise as I’m running, I thank God for new mercies every day. As I was running this morning I started thinking about this and you know how much I like to share my morning thoughts… LOL

I was out just thinking about my life and all the times that I wished that a door had opened. All the times I had promoters and people lie to me saying that they would help me... I remember wishing the bank would approve my loan request for a house or a car (usually one I couldn’t afford at the time). I wished that this person would help me or that person would do something to help my business, or this person would help my dreams come true.

As I look back now I’m so glad that none of those situations worked out. I’m so glad God closed those doors because they forced me to find the right path for me. If you’re in this situation and you feel like doors are closing all around you and you are frustrated, here’s something I’d like you to think about: Life can be like a living maze. You know what a maze is. In a maze, you start out at one end and your objective is to find your way to the finish line.

Many times you may make a turn and hit a dead end and you have to go another way. Just like life, that door closing on you sends you another way. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, it just means you need to go another way. If you keep moving, eventually you will get to where you’re going.

Another thing that is important when you’re in a maze, as in life, is to remember where you have been. If you get turned around and confused in a maze, in order to get out, you have to remember the dead-ends that you have already hit. Just like in life you have to remember all the doors that were closed so you don’t waste time going that way again. If you want to get to your dreams you can’t expect to get there by doing the same thing and going to the same spots. You must try something different. I’m not saying give up on your dream, I’m saying try another path to the same dream. Same maze, same dream, but take a different direction to get there.

I feel sorry for people who have a dream and give up because it gets hard. Let me tell you something, "IT’S GOING TO GET HARD!" And my answer to that is, "SO WHAT? MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!" Don’t stop because a door closed. I have learned to thank God for closed doors. You have to know that if God wanted you to go that way, no man could close that door. But for some reason he allowed that door to be closed, but if that one was closed I assure you that there is one that is open somewhere. And it’s the right one. Don’t stop until you are living your dream.

Is this helping anybody?

Yes this post really helped me. I'm sitting here at work fighting back the tears as I write this message. For so long God placed this vision inside me and I tried to stay optimistic as the days went on and the years have gone on. But everytime I'm at that point of wanting to give up and just say maybe this is all I'm destined to do. Something on the inside keeps saying this isn't your destiny. God has bigger and greater things for you to do. Reading this message from you really did inspire me even more to keep pressing toward my dreams. I don't know how the door will open but I know one day it will and I will be ready. So please keep leaving the messages because you will never know how much you are helping those who feel their dreams are gone with the wind. So I'll see you & Oprah in Hollywood soon I hope your up for a little competition. My book/movie is gonna send waves through hollywood and you and I will make plenty of money once it comes to life on the big screen. (smile) Standing and believing in my vision!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tyler how is your day well I just wanted to say it'ts been a while since I have writen on your page just wanted to say I've been watching the show's have been really good Been tweeting and you have not retweeted mine yet I don't know why don't know maybe Im doing something wrong a lot made my phone is not Krast enough like everybody else's I'll continue to do it anyway. Today my journey started after work I was going 25 miles out to a car dealership in which I was told the vehicle that I asked about on the phone would be there well when I get there one the vehicle was not there two they made me feel so bad. They made me feel like I was a charity case. Just because I will be recieving a 6,000 loan from a organization that helps women keep there jobs by providing them with enough money to purchase a vehicle of which I will pay back. So the guy takes this car thats 5,490 kellys blue book says its worth 4,994 he takes it up to 6,994 go talk to his manager comes back and say the cas not there anf tha mind you assuming I can't pay the 6,994 takes be to see other car saying these are the ones you should be looking at instead of looking for the one you cant afford. I was so done. Tyler I'm well able to afford what I wanted. The SUV was way under the assist money and besides all that I have money in the bank. So finally got to speak to the Boss. Oh I let him have it. I said for one I came all the way out here to be told you think the car was sold or that its at your other dealer ship. And to top it off your salesman made the assuption of that I couldnt afford it at that price when I clearly told him my stand on the whole deal. So I shook both their hands told them to have a good day.Knowing that my trust is in the Lord and not man. Thats another door closed. So God will open up more. God bless keep lifting Him up :) started take me towards a backup mother with the cars around the back that I can afford us out waiting in a signal

This is my first time on your website, and I must say it is very nice. I decided to visit after reading an article entitled, "Tyler Perry's Business School" in the Men's Health Magazine. The article only contained four points, but they were so profound for me. I just had a few questions that maybe you could answer through your future messages, if at all possible. 1. Do you in fact, have a business school? Or, an internship program?? 2. How do you stay resilient in the midst of adversity? and 3. How do you effectively network? Thank you so much for your time, and your keen business intellect is truly an inspiration for me. God Bless.

THIS is the message that changed a lot for me! THANK YOU and may God continue to bless you!

I just submitted a resume with your company and ironically you just reiterated every thing I mention in my resume on how me loosing various job ( DOORS CLOSING ) was God way of not allowing me to become complacent, and if the desirer of my heart is to be a screenwriter He will give me the desirers of my heart, His word says it and I believe and have faith in his word... I know that I might have to go through some hard and difficult times in which I am, but when I read comments like this it give me a great deal of strength. Mr. Perry I thank God for for your work and the time you spend sharing your life experience with us. I read thru your comments that's posted on your web and see the impact you have on your followers . Keep doing what your doing we need you.

It is not that I do not get open doors but the problem for me is that I run away from them. How do I learn to walk through the open door?

Della I think you running away from the open doors is saying that you have a bit of fear. I had Job offers where as I had too leave one job to start the other one, and not knowing if the grass was greener, I still had to go thru the door just to make sure I wouldn't have any regrets and at time the grass was not greener, but the good thing is God let me know that He had my back by having and exit door that led too another door. Follow your guide and fear know evil.

Hi Mr. Perry! This message was so perfect and right on time. Thank you! I found my way here while watching Madea's Family Reunion special features. I really appreciate you sharing your story because it allows me to see your growth as an entrepreneur, artist, and person. Watching your evolution is encouraging because it confirms that I am on the right journey for me. It gets so hard (like really really really really hard) but this blog post reminds me that closed doors are simply God's way of saying go in another direction Stacey. It's not over but you have come to the end of this path. Thank you for sharing your morning insights. You've totally shifted my week. Smile, Stacey
