I Thank God For Closed Doors

When I wake up in the morning and see the sunrise as I’m running, I thank God for new mercies every day. As I was running this morning I started thinking about this and you know how much I like to share my morning thoughts… LOL

I was out just thinking about my life and all the times that I wished that a door had opened. All the times I had promoters and people lie to me saying that they would help me... I remember wishing the bank would approve my loan request for a house or a car (usually one I couldn’t afford at the time). I wished that this person would help me or that person would do something to help my business, or this person would help my dreams come true.

As I look back now I’m so glad that none of those situations worked out. I’m so glad God closed those doors because they forced me to find the right path for me. If you’re in this situation and you feel like doors are closing all around you and you are frustrated, here’s something I’d like you to think about: Life can be like a living maze. You know what a maze is. In a maze, you start out at one end and your objective is to find your way to the finish line.

Many times you may make a turn and hit a dead end and you have to go another way. Just like life, that door closing on you sends you another way. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, it just means you need to go another way. If you keep moving, eventually you will get to where you’re going.

Another thing that is important when you’re in a maze, as in life, is to remember where you have been. If you get turned around and confused in a maze, in order to get out, you have to remember the dead-ends that you have already hit. Just like in life you have to remember all the doors that were closed so you don’t waste time going that way again. If you want to get to your dreams you can’t expect to get there by doing the same thing and going to the same spots. You must try something different. I’m not saying give up on your dream, I’m saying try another path to the same dream. Same maze, same dream, but take a different direction to get there.

I feel sorry for people who have a dream and give up because it gets hard. Let me tell you something, "IT’S GOING TO GET HARD!" And my answer to that is, "SO WHAT? MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!" Don’t stop because a door closed. I have learned to thank God for closed doors. You have to know that if God wanted you to go that way, no man could close that door. But for some reason he allowed that door to be closed, but if that one was closed I assure you that there is one that is open somewhere. And it’s the right one. Don’t stop until you are living your dream.

Is this helping anybody?

Wow this really spoke to me today! I have been in a maze of life nearly ever since graduating high school. Im now 28 in a state where I have been searching for a job for nearly 2 yrs and nothing has come up. Before this I graduated from a trade school for massage therapy and looking for a job in that didn't work out really because of the move so I moved to another route by searching for a job with a growing company as a call center person because I know I can do well in that field. Not giving up at all in that search for the perfec job where I can get benefits and establish myself and finally FINALLY get my own place. So I thank you for this Mr. Perry!

Yes!!!! Unbelievably helpful! Doors have closed for me in the way of miscarriages, but this is a beautiful way to see that I can still have a family if I just look for the right path through the maze to it! Thank you!

I know God meant for me to read your blog today. I have been feeling overwhelmed by all the rejection of my auditions. I literally have been scammed as of today by a fake casting company who said I was booked on Burn Notice. I was so excited! But, I'm a fighter, and I love acting, god will provide a new path. Thank You Tyler. I'm a huge dan. By the way my agency works with you. I'm with talent trek agency! God Bless.

Thanks for your encouraging words again because you have touch so many lives its lie God gave you a word and so many people might feel down about doors closing and by you giving these encouraging words would inspire people to never give up because a better door would open and jut continue to place your faith in God. You can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthen you and if doors closed keep knocking and trying because God would always bring your dreams to pass. Thanks again for your words of encouragement.

Mr. P., You have literally opened up the door for me on this one! I have been running through this "maze" called life for some time, and I'm still looking for the cheese! Yes, in spite of the closed doors, road blocks, and obstacles, I know that the cheese out there somewhere! I can smell it...Lord have mercy, I can almost taste it!!! I thank God for you and the inspiration He gives you to share with us during hard times when we are ready to give up! Many of us are living what you're speaking, but many of us are afraid to speak it ourselves. Thank you for being God's mouthpiece! I am encouraged! I won't give up until I get my cheese!!!

Tyler, I just wanted to tell you that God would always work things out for our good and like you said if the door is closed it's only because he has something better in store for you. God promised us that he knows the plans for us it's not for bad but good and a future and hope. Sometimes, god might want the recognition all by himself and if you look how blessed you really are I am positive you would say it was nothing but god's unmerited flavor.
