Guard Your Heart and Mind
If you can get this, this will change your life… I was out taking my morning run. I love how still it is when I’m running. I can hear clearly and really commune with God. I wanted to share this with you. It’s a lesson I had to learn.
One of the keys to success is to be able to guard your heart. Now, usually when someone says guard your heart they are talking about keeping yourself from heartbreak. Although that is important (as long as you don’t go overboard... but that’s another conversation) that isn’t what I’m talking about. When we are born into this world we enter with such a pure heart but as we grow older situations, circumstances and people tend to make us change. Now I know it is nearly impossible to keep a childlike innocence in our hearts all of our lives, especially after people have betrayed, lied, mistreated and downright been the devil. Trust me when I tell you, I have seen it all. I have been there big time. If you’re like me you’ve been there too. But if this is your situation I want you to know two very important things about those moments of heartbreak. Number one, learn the lesson in it. See how it will work together for your good, because it will. Once you do, it’s easier to forgive and move on. Secondly, and this is just as important as the first one, you must not let that person or people change your heart. What do I mean by that? Well, if you are a giver and someone you have given to misuses your gift, don’t stop giving… just give to someone else. If you are a person that loves people and someone you love hates you, don’t stop loving… love someone else. Eventually, you will find people who appreciate your kindness and your love. Remember this, lots of people have been conditioned to not be able to accept purity of heart. They can’t take it in. Most times it’s not even their fault. It’s just what has happened to them on their journey in life. But don’t let them turn you into one of them. There will be a lot of people in your life who will not appreciate your pureness of heart. If they hurt you don’t stop being you… just be you with someone else.
Why is this so important? Because God blesses you according to what is in your heart. If you are being kind, giving, loving and sharing because it is in your heart and you are not looking for anything in return, then that is a heart that God wants to bless. If you change who you are because you’ve been hurt, then you’ve changed the thing that God wants to bless you according to, and that is your heart. The people who hurt you are not worth that. You can lose everything that you have, but don’t let anybody change your heart.

Tyler, there you go again...letting God use you. I needed this confirmation today because I had a situation just this morning that has filled me with anxiety. I have been searching for my lesson all day. Thank you and May God continue to use and bless you.

Tyler you have me crying cause I talked to God today on my route and that's exactly what I talked to Him about. Thank you so much for those strong words of encouragement. It means a lot right now. I will change who I give to love and do for. Just me and my kids. One one of your plays you said never give up on love and I told God I would never give up on love. It(LOVE) is the greatest gift in the Bible.

Your message of guarding your heart reminded me of a conversation I had with my sister. She asked me why do people use and abuse people with big hearts, I started sing the Monica song, "Don't take it personal." I told her one way to guard her heart, because it is so big, is to not take what people say or do personal. I told her it's easier to laugh and give the situation to God than to hold on to it and allow it to become a distraction. I also reminded her if they did it to Jesus, they are going to do it to her. People are fickle, selfish, and honestly just don't know any better. At the end of the day, we need to guard our hearts by being anchored in the Word of God. Be Blessed

Dear Tyler, I have a dear friend in prison ( he actually has a masters in Ministry due to my love of the Lord) but we just spoke about this situation. For years my mom's hated me, for years I told her I loved her ( walking w/God of course-which my mom does not). Anyways, this past June, she came to my place & left me, took every one else out to eat, just left me. Came bk after their dinner w/out me & started to insult me. As she stated all her insults towards me I was crying & shaking. I mean she put me back to a place like I was a child. She made me feel like she did yrs ago. So, my friend in prison said, well did you answer her with Gods love? I am not sure, because as she was leaving she asked me, "What do you have against me?" Against her? Nothing! She has always insulted me, treated me like dirt. I was thrown in the streets at 15 yrs old. So I went outside & said I just want to know, "why don't you love me, what did I do to deserve that, you love Sandee ( my baby sister)." Well needless to say she clammed up & as I stood out there crying hysterically. So you are right. If some1 doesn't love you, Love another. I poured all that love on to my son, his friends, my Childrens Ministry & God. Plus, my teaching of the Word to prisoners. I am talking murderers that have changed their whole life & went to school in prison to be ministers. So, God Bless You. By the way God always confirms His Word. Thank You.

Tyler, Your words hit home today. I needed those words today because I have found myself in those situations all too often. You are reaffirming that I should not stop giving, caring or loving just because those around me may not always reciprocate. Thank you for helping me understand that God truly blesses us for what is in our heart and only he knows our heart!

What a deep and beautiful message, Tyler! I feel so much joy when you talk like this, because it is increasing the intensity of light on our path as God's children. Please check out my first little book on Amazon.com: "The Voice in You & Me" - How listening to Your Heart can can You beyond all Drama - by Sabine Mutandwa Kouassi. $ 1 of every book sold I will give to the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. (I had offered to send you a copy, but your staff might send it back to me, because you don't accept gifts etc. I still would like to autograph you a copy though.....) Have an over-blessed week-end experiencing God's gentle and healing love! Mama Sabine

Tyler.... Its like you are living with me every time i read your messages. I know God is everywhere and He is speaking through you to me. Lately your messages have been on point in my life and I'm just... grateful. Thank you for sending out these messages. Especially the "Don't give up Dreamer." OMG. That was so on point because i was about to call it quits with my film. Its so hard to make a film when you don't have a management team. I am the team. But i know what God told me to do and as soon as i kicked back into gear, more doors started to open. And then there's this message. OMG. I love you Tyler. Cause i was one of those people who is always getting dogged and lately i was about to treat everyone like crap, but deep down inside me i can't because its not my character. Thats not my heart and i believe that is why God blesses me so much. (Sigh) So with that note, thank you. Thank you for writing your fans and telling us what is on your heart, because you never know who is going through the same thing. Love you Bro.
