Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.

Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.

Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.

This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.

To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.

This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

Tyler we do understand that you have to follow your heart and where the lord leads you. We also understand the business world and hard decision have to be made and you are the one that has to make them. I know a lot of us are disappointed that we won't get to see the show live but I'm sure people would be willing to travel to your venue to see the plays and this way you can set the prices. Just a thought and it may have already been thought of , I know there's still a lot of red tape. We love you and respect you sir keep doing positive thing our youth are always watching and they need all the positive they can see. Thank you for all you do. Peace and Love Angie

Tyler, unlike some worshipers, I see you as a blessed man of God human. I also see that you have a heart after God. I am sorry that you saw fit to cancel the play. I was my intent to attend the play, but if it is God's will I will and his will be done. I will continue to pray for you Tyler. I do hope that you will continue to allow the Lord the lead and guide your every endeavor. Much Love and Peace VGB.

Tyler, thank you for looking out for your fans. We know that this is just a temporary thing and that you will find a way to connect with your fans in other ways and at a later time. Take care and God Bless! Denise

Hi Tyler!! Well I was online ready to purchase my tickets for 10-20-2012 and it seems there has been a change of plans (understatement!!!). Eventually, I may get the chance to see Madea live. I guess I will celebrate my birthday weekend with one of your movies instead. Take care of yourself and continue to soar. Yolanda

Hello Tyler, My heart is so sad..My sister and I planned a girl weekend out as she would be driving over from Tallahassee..we got our tickets very early... It has taken me a couple of days to absorb the news...I understand your concern and love for us (your fans) and your stand, however, the thieves are going to continue to be such until they have a heart change..Too many of our lives have been blessed and changed through how the Lord has used you..I think that we have to be careful in purchasing our tickets, we are already aware of scapers and had been reminded..Dog gone It...We had some great seats..Man....Oh, sorry I was tryna suppress my Madea, ego LOL. I love your work and look forward to seeing whats coming next..Tyler, you gotta keep doing what you're doing..May that Lord Bless you and Keep You..

This had nothing to do with scalpers or fees. It had to do with POOR TICKET SALES.

I read this is the last live madea play? IS this the last live madea play? I personally think you can do anything, but I just wanted to be clear on it. Well Madea is a rich woman and I think she should past the batton to someone else. She should at least go to church and get happy. She did get over a million dollars in the last movie. she could have an epihany and repent in church and shout. The way the sisters use to do in the old church. Crying and sweating and speaking in real tongues. You could use that to teach people how to speak in tongues and the benefits of the nine manefestations of the Holy Spirit. Well you videos should be available in walmart. The entire collection should be marketed so we can get a copy of what we do not have. I am going to miss that swag and the mystery.

Hi Tyler, I don't post comments often because my chances, like others are about one in a million when it comes to my comments reaching you. Totally understand! There are a lot of people that love you & your work. However, in the spirit of love, i could not resist the opportunity to try again in hopes that you might actually read this. Tyler, there is just so much inside me to say to you. I really am aware of the fact that things are not as they appear with you. I know that you face intense opposition behind the scenes...which is why you've been placed in my spirit to pray for you. I cover you & TPS daily in prayer. I need you to know that for years you planted into people. You brought joy & laughter to a lot of hurting people...and because of that, there comes a time when we must reap that which we have sown. All I'm saying is that--It's your time to receive the love you've put out...your time to really laugh...your time to be ministered to in areas of your life that's been totally neglected. It's your time,Tyler. Enjoy the change. Sometimes, what we call trouble is actually change. Its your reaping season. Sometimes, we are so used to giving that we sometimes forget to make time for receiving. Have lots more to say, but, of course, I can't...In the meantime, "Take care of Tyler!" There's more of you to come. Looking forward to it. VerlindaK
