Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.

Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.

Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.

This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.

To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.

This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

I am so sorry that this is the last Madea play and that we were not able to see it. We were supposed to see it in Greenville, SC and there is nothing like your play as a live experience. I was concerned when I heard that it had been canceled I wanted to come to your site to see if were doing ok. I am glad that you are fine. I am so sad that there won't be any more live plays, by you. I pray that you continue to do well.!

I had not gone to the PNC Arena to receive my refund in hopes that the play in Raleigh, North Carolina was not canceled, or you had completely reconsidered your tour throughout the country. When I went to the PNC website this morning, my fears were confirmed. I will only say that my oldest granddaughter did not take it well, but I asked that she pray in her Sunday School today class for the understanding of the disappointments and hard lessons learned in life. Mr. Perry did what he thought was right. You touch so many people Mr. Perry; both young and old. Even I a 57 year old man do not fully understand the rationale. I agree with so many others who post comments on your website. The true winners are those that do harm. There is a lesson to be learned here though, even in this years political climate. Much Love for You and Your Work, The Allen Family

Hello Mr. Allen! I disagree with your comment that "true winners are the ones who do harm." I must release the TRUTH to you and all who may agree with what you said. In the times we live in now things are backwards. Right is wrong & wrong is Right. People who think and feel that it's ok to lie, cheat, and steal to get ahead in life are wrong and are NOT WINNERS. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER DID NOT CREATE US TO DO THESE THINGS. HE CREATED US TO DO UNTO OTHERS AS WE WANT OTHERS TO DO UNTO US. Mr. Allen be encouraged that when you do good, good will come back to you. If you Believe in Jesus Christ hold onto The Lord's Word. Our enemies NEVER win, even when it looks like. May you and your family be Blessed in Jesus' Name.

SUGGESTION! For future reference Tyler, you should develop a website that will sell the tickets for your plays/shows and only allow two tickets per credit/debit card (making sure that the card used can only by applied once and not for future or additional tickets for the same event). This will reduce the brokers and bootleggers from purchasing up all or large amounts of the tickets while at the same time your still allowing your fans to order them at the price you desire to sell them for. JUST A SUGGESTION Sandy :)

I paid $80.00 for one ticket, and I didn't get a bootleg ticket . I want my money back. I can't afford to waist that kinda of money.

Tyler we do understand that you have to follow your heart and where the lord leads you. We also understand the business world and hard decision have to be made and you are the one that has to make them. I know a lot of us are disappointed that we won't get to see the show live but I'm sure people would be willing to travel to your venue to see the plays and this way you can set the prices. Just a thought and it may have already been thought of , I know there's still a lot of red tape. We love you and respect you sir keep doing positive thing our youth are always watching and they need all the positive they can see. Thank you for all you do. Peace and Love Angie

Tyler, unlike some worshipers, I see you as a blessed man of God human. I also see that you have a heart after God. I am sorry that you saw fit to cancel the play. I was my intent to attend the play, but if it is God's will I will and his will be done. I will continue to pray for you Tyler. I do hope that you will continue to allow the Lord the lead and guide your every endeavor. Much Love and Peace VGB.
