Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...
Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.
Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.
Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play. DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.
This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.
To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.
This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

I am with you sister. I had plans to attend the November 18th show. When things do not work out, just move on. Put yourselves in his shoes. Did you see all those cities? Think about puttting on the wig, makeup, extra padding, and costume changes. Just imagine day after day going into years working and doing things to make others happy. When you stop, I wonder if the love is still there. It's like working a job coming home tired and then just stand there and let someone just come along and snatch your pay away without a fight. It may take some time, but I still believe we still haven't seen the last of Madea. The title of the next play should be "Madea Takes A Staycation" LOL.

Really beginning to wonder if this is about bootleggers or ticketsales!?! I don't understand why the shows in New York and Carolina haven't been cancelled and all others have? Unfair, was totally looking forward to an enjoyable evening out! I truly hope its not because ticket sales were not where they could have been...

Hi K from New Orleans, the shows in the Carolinas have been cancelled as well. I thought they were not cancelled as well but when you click find tickets or go to the venue website it states cancelled, same goes for New York. We are all out of luck.

Have you ever thought about just doing the play in your studio where you have control of the tickets. Or a venue in ATL. People will come to see the play? I do agree that the ticket prices where outrages, as I did purchase tickets in NYC and I brought the cheaper tickets because honestly coming from the tri-state it isn't a broadway play to be paying over $65.00. I'm glad I seen you before the success. WORK IT OUT FOR YOUR FANS! DON'T LET THE SCALPERS WIN!

Hi Tyler, you're not gonna believe this. We've travelled all the way from New Zealand (on the other side of the world) to see your work 'live' for 'maybe' the last time. We discovered that your play was cancelled after we landed and checking into our hotel here in L.A. Haha! We planned to attend your New Orleans show. I'm not going to tell you how much it cost us and what we gave to be there but i want you to know that one day i will eventually connect with you for business reason i cannot disclose on here! Just know that im a young entrepreneur thats making some sacrifices. I have watched every play and every movie you have put out from either the comfort of my home or a movie theater. I was so excited about getting to see this play up close and personal. It was going to be a group of 6 of us that purchased tickets together for this event with it being each of our's first time. We payed the quoted prices for the tickets online and were not raked over the coals. God has blessed you do much over the years and in turn you have blessed and touched others in ways you can't even imagine. You, of all people, should know that what God has for you I for you an that no weapons formed against you shall prosper. Those criminals will not get far in life with the schemes they have up heir sleeves. What appears to be a victory to them is just temporary. What you have is everlasting because God continues to carry you to higher levels everyday. I ask that you please reconsider your decision to cancel the shows and let us see "Madea's Last Play for a while". You have ministered to so many people through these plays and now it is time for you to adhere to all of the teachings you have instilled in those millions of fans you have had an impact on over the years. This is completly unfair, this was going to be a chance for my family to bond!!! My mother was so excited (who is about to get a kidney transplant and wanted to get a good laugh before her surgury), this is a huge dissappointment and I feel you should reconsider for Greensboro NC.
