Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.

Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.

Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.

This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.

To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.

This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

Hello Tyler, I hate that you had to cancel the show but I truly understand. My health would not let me go to see you live, so I have you on DVD. I was getting them through your website but whenever I go to Target or Walmart, I buy them there. I have been collecting your plays, movies, and love it whenever you are on television I see you there. Just make another DVD of this one and you can rest assure that they will be selling like hotcakes and no bootlegger will be able to sell them. Just let us know when the DVD is available and I AM going to BUY ONE! Love and Blessings to you, a very loyal fan!!

Hi Tyler Perry, Im so so so sad and dissapointed that you had to cancel the rest of your tour. My mom and her 4 sister's were going to surprise another one of there sister's for her 50th bday celebration. My family lives in Cleve Ohio and they had gotten tickets for your show I believe in Nov out there. They are so disappointed because my auntie NEVER goes anywhere or does ANYTHING besides work and take care of her family daily. She is a HUGE fan of yours and watches all of your shows but has never seen you live. She even submitted a video for your contest you had over the summer but she didnt win. I sure hope you will reconsider touring because we thought it was the perfect surprise present for her. Thank you for listening.

WOW, I had two boys so happy to see Mr. Jones play trumpet. They were students at FSU summer jazz music camp and were looking forward to seeing him perform in your band. Next summers camp is so far away.

Tyler, I am so disappointed but like other's I understand your reasons but like another posted, I think this is so unfair to us also. Is there nothing you can do to so that we can have the opportunity to see your last live Madea play please?

I understand and completely support you Tyler in your decision to protect your fans. For those claiming its because of tickets sales, do some research. His plays' ticket sales are always excellent so that isn't the problem. Thanks for trying to protect us Tyler. Please come out with another live Madea play so My family can see it live. We support your decision.

I think standing up for your principles is always the right thing to do...It is never the easy thing, but it is always the right thing. I support Mr. Perry's decision. Of course I am disappointed at the cancellation, as is my daughter. However, stopping unsuspecting people from losing more money over scams is a noble thing. I will continue to support, love, enjoy, and belly laugh at/with Madea and Tyler Perry!
