Don't Let Anybody Define You!

I live my life outside of the box because when I die they're going to put me into one!

Many times in this life, people will try to tell you what you can and cannot do. They will also try to tell you who you are and who you are not. DON’T LET ANYBODY DEFINE YOU! When I was a kid, I had a teacher tell me that I would never be a millionaire because I was black and the system was set up to keep me down. This was a TEACHER! Can you believe that? I’m so glad that my little boy mind didn’t accept that. I have often been told that I wouldn’t make it because I was poor or because of the color of my skin. I had family members tell me I would never make it and my dreams would never come true for one reason or another... boy were they wrong. If I had listened to any of those voices I wouldn’t be here writing this to you. Hear me when I say this to you: no matter what anyone says to you, LIVE YOUR LIFE!! Follow that still small voice inside of you. That is GOD’s Holy Spirit and I think we all have the capacity to hear that voice. We just need to still ourselves to hear it. You must silence all the outside voices in order to hear THE voice. I try to stay as clear as I can so that I can hear it. It’s not always easy, but necessary.
This is your life. Make decisions based on your own path. Let no one define it for you!

If you live the life everyone else wants you to live and you never live the life you want to live, then are you really living??
Life is so short... Live it to the fullest!!

O K you asked !!! Don't be sorry you did (Sarcasm) I normally don't put myself out like this ( So feel special) I grew up an only child reared by my grand parents. As I grew up watching society change morally, spiritually etc. I feel God placed the gift of making a difference in my spirit. Being the parent of 5 as any rational parent my dream was to offer society productive children first loving God with method of maintaing common sense and values. Yes it cost my husband I hard work ,sacrifice, tears and sweat. Today as we are empty nest we bless the Lord in watching our dreams fruition. Loving our grands watching as they NOW take on the role of parenhood) My lil pay backers lol.. That can be side splitting as we recall things to our childrens rememberance. My profession is Life Character M S Education. It's such an awesome experience as many of my students return as graduates, professionals, adults parents etc. letting me know how or what they are doing. As they can say " Keeping it real". My goal is to be financially stable and owning a Art studio upon my retiring which would have to include a dance studio and my passion.. Writing. So there you have it. My dream is to WRITE .. WRITE.. and travel the world for continued learning experiences. Personally son, maybe it's life ( MY AGE) or maybe it's what ones experiences have been, but I learned long ago human beings can be fickle and ever changing. Some say it's my stubborness but I've never been afraid to push against the grain. ( Got me plenty whuppins as a child lol) I can't stand a boxed in life style when it comes to living. Though I have the highest reguard and repect of many wise , life styles and opinions of people.. I can only do me. After all God specifically designed ME to be Me. Be blessed son. God Bless You SistahJ

About that comment, "Make decisions based on your own path. Let no one define it for you!" .....Not of our path, but the path that God has defined for us, for we are made of the flesh, and the flesh is weak.

Tyler, I am besides myself with the fact that you will be playing Alex Cross. I have read every single one of those books from the beginning. October can't get here fast enough. I look forward to that and Madea get's a job reaching MSG in November. It was fantastic in the theatre when I went to see it. I was happy to see the daughter on "House of Payne". The gentleman that plays her brother will he be returning also? You are such an amazing individual. Keep the faith you can do anything you put your mind too. You have been on both sides of the fence the Have's and the have nots. You know what it's like to live in both worlds. That's why your untouchable.

My life''s dream is to be a nurse, working with sick babies, and I also would love to work with assulted woman Tyler. I've been situations of domestic abuse. But God has given me the strength to forgive those people, who hurt me, not for them but for me to move on with my life. You have given us so much movies, like Medea's Big happy Family, Medea goes to Jail, and also Medea's Family reunion, when the girl gets abused from her soon to be husband. You taught me a lesson from those movies, about domestic and child abuse. To live your dream and not let people tell you can't do things in life and also to learn to forgive. I can not attend college due to my academic probation. Funds are very short with four children. however next year I will be able to finish my education. sincere respect nicola.

My life's dreams and goals are, actually, a lot like yours. I want to write, direct, produce, and star in my own television shows, plays, movies, radio shows, etc. I want to own all of my own productions, publish my own books and poems, and maybe even produce some music (maybe, maybe not). I also want to create a community outreach program that allows children to live out their dreams. Those are my life's dreams regarding my career.

Hey Tyler, Why did you decide to end House of Payne or was it the network decision? The ending should have on a happy note if it was the series finale. I have supported on this journey of the TV shows and movies and plays. Love you Regina

Unfortunately, in our country, race continues to be an issue in 2012. Everyone deserves a chance to show themselves without being pre-judged for foolish reasons. I learned this lesson after meeting a man back in 1973, and we fell in love. We talked about having a future together after college. He had been raised by his loving grandparents on the East coast. Suddenly, his birth mother came back into his life. Although his grandparents loved me, his mother did not; she hated me on sight. I would constantly catch her rolling her eyes and making faces at me behind my back. I was very shy, but I tried to talk and be as friendly as possible. As time went on, she seemed to accept me, at least, I thought she did. So, her son and I tried to make the long distance relationship work. There were no cell phones or internet back then, and within six months, all of his letters and phone calls suddenly stopped. I was devastated. I locked myself in my bedroom, and dropped out of college. A girlfriend told me years later that he had married, had two sons, and that his wife left him to raise the children alone. I eventually returned to college and recieved my Master's degree in education. I recently retired after 34 years of teaching. Although I worked in a predominantly white school, I was very well loved by my students and rated "superior" by administration. I recently saw this man for the first time in over thirty years. He said that his mother did like me, but she thought I was "too old" for him ( 11 m0nths). My reply to him was that "was the biggest piece of crap" for the following reasons: I was 11 months older, but his "wife" was 4 years older. I wasn't "pretty enough" to her ( skin too dark and I was too fat). I would end up on welfare with too many kids. I would ruin his life. By the way, NONE of those things happened! Over the years, I taught my students to look "beyond the outside package" and my two favorite mottos: "Don't let the past predict your future" and, "Don't judge a book by it's cover; you'll never know what is hiding inside the pages".
