Tyler Perry’s much anticipated new book hits the shelves today and is also available from online retailers.

The book, “Higher Is Waiting,” which Perry describes as a series of lessons he has learned in a life that has been fraught with adversity and triumph, is meant to help others discover the higher version of themselves and create a roadmap to a more fulfilled life.

Perry spoke about the book in a recent appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

Perry writes in the introduction to the book, “I’ve tried to find the time to sit quietly, contemplate, and meditate on the lessons I learned. Once the message ripened and was clear, I would write this new awareness into a cherished leather-bound journal. Higher Is Waiting, composed over a ten-year period, is a collection of these insights, inspirations, and life lessons.”
